According to a study commissioned by Beyond Meat with the Center for Sustainable Systems at the University of Michigan, a plant-based burger generates 90% less greenhouse gas emissions, requires 45% less energy, has 99% less impact on water scarcity, and 93% less impact on land use than a ¼ pound of traditional U.S.
The latest iteration of the Pure Farmland burger – which has a base of soy protein, coconut oil and canola oil – has 16g protein (up from 14g) from non-GMO soy, 7g saturated fat (down from 13g), and 480mg sodium (down from 580mg), bringing it more closely in line with competitive products from a nutritional perspective
To pan-cook Beyond Burgers:
- Heat a skillet over medium high heat.
- Grease the skillet with a light coat of olive oil or butter.
- Cook Beyond Burgers for 3 minutes on each side or until browned on the outside.
