Sitting on the beach will be allowed for sunbathing and relaxing alone or with your household unit. Oceans: Swimming, surfing, kayaking, and single-person paddling is allowed. Bays: Single-household recreational boating allowed. Fishing is allowed, but not from the shoreline.
With its calm and contained water, the Mission Bay, San Diego swimming areas attract families all year with small children, or those who are a little more timid in the ocean. The trade-off for gentle water can be the bay's murkiness compared to the Pacific.
Some beaches—particularly those within the jurisdiction of the State Parks system—close down at sunset. Others close at 2:00 AM and re-open at 6:00 AM, and some never really close. Unless you're a registered guest of an official campground, you are never allowed to stay overnight at any beach.

Beach fires outside of designated containers are also strictly forbidden. The debris from such illegal fires can cause serious injury to beachgoers, children especially digging in the sand.

Carlsbad Beach boardwalk is located in Southern California in the city of Carlsbad. The boardwalk, is often referred to as “seawall” in which the paved road lines Carlsbad Beach. The boardwalk is 4 miles long and extends across a couple beaches in Carlsbad.
The oceanfront boardwalk runs along the coastline for nearly three miles from the south Mission Beach Jetty north to Law Street in Pacific Beach with full access to the waves of the Pacific Ocean.
The state beach is open for active and passive recreation. Restrooms and parking areas are open for use. Day-use fees may be paid through the automated pay machines installed at the park.
The beach. Pacific Beach's namesake stretches for miles from the Mission Bay jetty to the cliffs of La Jolla. The boardwalk, officially called Ocean Front Walk/Ocean Boulevard, is a pedestrian walkway that runs approximately 3.2 miles along the beach from the end of Law St.

Can you pet the seals at La Jolla Cove? La Jolla Cove is actually mostly home to sea lions and no you can't pet them. You also can not pet the harbor seals at the Children's Pool. Please keep your distance even if you think that no one is watching.
The La Jolla Ecological Reserve and Underwater Park is federally protected and provides fantastic snorkeling.
La Jolla Cove has both seal and sea lions — but how do you tell the difference between them? Firstly, you're way more likely to see seals at the Children's Pool, whereas the sea lions live next door near the cliffs at the Cove.
This is a great area for those wanting to swim in the ocean. There are 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile buoys to help you navigate and even lifeguards to answer your questions. The seals don't really bother you if you leave them alone. You can even swim over to La Jolla Shores and back for a 2 mile round trip.
