Not only did he trust John, which he failed to do at the time with Arthur, he also walked away from the money too. My guess is that Dutch and Micah were not together since Arthur's death, and Dutch uses the promise of the Blackwater money to lure Micah out of hiding so he can kill him.
Red Dead Redemption 3 will release after the Grand Theft Auto 6. GTA 6 is reportedly in development right now and will come to PS5 and Xbox Scarlett somewhere around 2023. It would take another 3-4 years before we see another Red Dead. A realistic window would be 2025 to 2026 for Red Dead Redemption 3.

Arthur's wallet of money is also cleared out, but John receives $20,000, which is more than enough to buy anything. A few missions into the epilogue, John does inherit all of Arthur's outfits and weapons. So before you finish the mission "Red Dead Redemption," you might as well spend that saved cash.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, Guarma is located in the Caribbean. Players can't get even get there without completing a series of quests that end in a boat trip. And once they leave, there's no way to go back to Guarma without replaying the few missions that take place there.

Yes, you can keep playing after finishing the story (6 chapters and 2 parts of the epilogue). Another good information is that the epilogue makes Blackwater and New Austin safe to explore. You don't have to worry that the main character will get attacked upon detecting.

10 Swim. In a hilarious take on the first game's limitations, Rockstar Games made it officially canon that John Marston can't swim. If John tries to take a dip in a lake, his stamina depletes almost instantly, and he quickly drowns.
There are an additional five bounties which can only be captured during the course of certain missions, and bounties posted in Blackwater and Tumbleweed can only be completed as John Marston.
Post Game Stranger Missions
While Arthur may have passed on, his work remains. Arthur Morgan's grave can be found to the northeast of Bacchus Station, and east of the grave of Eagle Flies. If you finished the game with a high Honor rating, Arthur's grave will be adorned with flowers.
Everyone died from that gang that was in RDR1. Javier, Bill, Dutch, John, Abigail. Gone. But as RDR2 made it so clear, Dutch's old gang disbanded and thats why you have to hunt them all down in RDR1.
If you choose to go back for the money, Arthur heads back to the burning camp of the Van der Linde gang. He gets the money, but Micah Bell ambushes him. Micah stabs a crawling Arthur in the back, finally killing him.
Micah killed Arthur because in the eyes of Dutch and the rest of the gang members who sided with him, he was seen as a traitor. Even though Arthur and the people who sided with him (Sadie, Charles, John, Susan) were morally right as the gang was deteriorating, Micah painted them as traitors and Dutch believed as such.
If the player was honorable, Dutch will leave because he is unable to choose between them. After which, Micah leaves in anger, while Arthur dies of his tuberculosis as he watches the sun rise from the mountainside. In this case, what happens is that Arthur abandons John in order to go back to the gang's burning camp.
Red Dead Redemption 2 allows you to save Lenny if you move him back so Arthur Morgan can go into the window leading to the hideout place (hiding place during cutscene).
While Jack does model himself after John in the epilogue, it's actually Arthur who he most closely resembles. Both are sensitive, both like reading, both like writing, and both are inherently artistic folk. Jack is John's son, but Arthur clearly had a massive influence on him.
In 1914, Abigail Marston dies of unknown causes, and Jack buries her on the ranch next to John and Uncle.
