Some Instagram users might not be able to see how many likes they have on posts anymore. This is because the social media company has started rolling out a new feature that hides the number a post gets.
The changes come down to the fact that Instagram will no longer publicly display the number of likes generated by posts. This means that the exact number of likes given to any individual photo or video will only be known to the user who posted it.
Now, it's important to note the distinction here. Instagram is not removing likes; it's hiding them from your public profile. Likes will be private now, so you can still see how many likes a post received, but no one else can.
To do this just open the Instagram app and click on the heart button on the bottom bar of your screen, next to your profile button. This will bring up a list of likes and comments on your photos.

2 Answers. A bit of conjecture, but if your second friend "liked" your posts because they saw them on your first friend's timeline, that might explain why they disappeared when the first friend deactivated their account and re-appeared when it was re-activated.
2: The most likely option; privacy settings.A few users will restrict the visibility of their likes. This means that only people connected to that person will be able to see the action. In some cases they restrict the like to just themselves, meaning no one can see the like.
You can only see if people you followed liked your tweet. If you follow a private account, you would be able to see if they liked the tweet. Once a company whose account was public liked or retweeted my post and I couldn't see it was them.
