The Story. Boomtown is a fictitious city set within an alternative world, populated with a plethora of curious characters roaming the streets and guiding the citizens through the labyrinth of adventures waiting to be discovered.
At about 2 square miles, the area exceeds the size of the Glastonbury festival site (900 acres). It is located where the A272 joins the A31 just outside Winchester.
Boom Towns started in the late 19th century, and the date of the first Boom Town was 1860. Mining, followed by boom towns, started in the 1860's and ended in the 1890's. People started to move into Leadville, a boom town, in 1879.
The musical programme celebrates high calibre, recognisable acts from mainstream and underground music that include everything from reggae, world music, folk, metal, jazz, ska, hip hop, punk, drum and bass, techno, house, disco, jungle, psytrance (believe us when we say the list goes on…)
Zooloos provide showers, flushing loos and pampering facilities at two locations on the site. Choose from Downtown (west campsite) or Hilltop (east campsite). Please note you can only use the showers in the location you select, but can access the loos and pamper areas at both locations.

We are deeply saddened to make the announcement that we are no longer proceeding with Boomtown 2020, and the next chapter will take place on 11-15th August 2021. This has led us to the decision that Boomtown 2020 will no longer go ahead.
