The 2020 main shows begin on Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. sharp, when the Blue Angels can be seen soaring directly over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Best of all, the pilots of the Blue Angels usually show up at a tent on PIER 39 to sign autographs. To get to PIER 39, take the Muni F-line streetcar. You can also take the 8X, 8BX, 39 or 47 Muni buses.
Beginning around 2 p.m., 12 fighter jets in a joint formation will fly over Philadelphia for about 20 minutes. According to the Pentagon, residents along the flight path can expect a few seconds of jet noise as the aircraft pass overhead, flying in close formation.

To be right in the heart of Fleet Week and to watch the Blue Angels fly directly overhead, Crissy Field is the place to go. Make sure to get there early, since most people arrive well before the performance begins. If arriving from the North Bay, you can take the Golden Gate Bridge to get to Crissy Field.

The Park Under the Bridge. Tucked away under the Golden Gate Bridge, the impressive structure that gives Fort Point National Historic Site its name has been called "the pride of the Pacific," "the Gibraltar of the West Coast," and "one of the most perfect models of masonry in America."
There is no specific FAA directive against flying under a bridge, but there is one that says pilots must maintain an altitude of 1,000 feet over populated areas and another about not endangering people or property on the ground.

The pilots are prepared to preform in the rain. "There has to be a minimum of 1500 feet cloud level for the Blue Angels to fly," Crew Chief Jeramie Race said. The pilots perform different maneuvers based on how high they can safely fly.
The Blue Angels typically provide two backseat flights at each show site for selected personnel. Both riders fly with the Number 7 pilot in the two-seat jet. One of those riders are selected from the Key Influencer (KI) program and the other is a credentialed media representative.
In July 2014, Marine Corps Capt. Katie Higgins, 27, became the first female pilot to join the Blue Angels.
THE BLUE ANGELS TEAM
A total of 16 officers voluntarily serve with the Blue Angels. Each year the team typically selects three tactical (fighter or fighter/attack) jet pilots, two support officers and one Marine Corps C-130 pilot to relieve departing members.Flying the squadrons cost at least $60,000 per hour. The senior military official said that the cost of the flights will come from money already in the Pentagon budget. Other planes also could be involved, the official said, suggesting bombers flying over their home states as one possibility.
With a clocked speed of some 100 miles per hour faster than its closest competition, along with a personal account of the jet traveling upwards of Mach 3.5, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird is the fastest jet on the planet — and it's not even a close race.
By 2021, the Blue Angels will all be flying the Super Hornet version of the F/A-18. A Fighting Falcon costs roughly $14.5 million dollars, making it one of the cheaper planes in the U.S. Military. The Navy Super Hornet costs about $70 million. Blue Angels have a bit more history than the Thunderbirds.

Both the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds are show teams… While on the team, they (pilots, other team members) do not deploy in a combat role, nor does the team deploy in a combat role.

There are also archangels that lead the angels of each color, and they are: Blue – The Archangel Michael, who is the leader of all holy angels, oversees the blue angels. Pink – Since pink represents peace, the Archangel Chamuel oversees it. Chamuel is the angel of peaceful relations.
