Make an Appointment with a counselor. You will need to develop a short-term education plan (SEP) which will help you with you first term registration. Although not a requirement for priority registration, we encourage you to attend an Undecided Major Workshop if you have not decided on the career you want to pursue.

- Step 3 Register for Classes. Check your Priority Registration Appointment Date and Time on MyGCC then register at the date and time assigned to you or at any time thereafter.

- Enter your Student # and Password to login to Student Portal.
- Once you login to Student Home Page, Click on My Profile. To Activate your Email, you must first be enrolled in a course.
- Once you are enrolled, you will be able to now Activate your Student Email.

To drop a class that has already started, pick up an add/drop form in the Enrollment Center. Ask your instructor sign the form, then give the completed form to the Office of Admissions and Records by the drop-class deadline noted in your online Student Center to receive a 100% refund.
How much is tuition at GCC?
In-state tuition 1,175 USD, Out-of-state tuition 6,575 USD (2019 – 20)
For summer 2021 semester tuition of $85 per credit hour for up to 6 credits (out-of-state surcharge waived) plus $15 registration fee and other course fees may apply.
TOTAL TIME: 9 HOURS PER WEEK FOR A 3-UNIT CLASSIf you take 12 units, total time to budget is 36 hours per week. That is why 12 units is considered full-time-student status.

After you have registered for our program and studied for the exam, we offer GED and HiSET Practice Tests that you can take in order to see if you are prepared to sign up for the actual test. The staff in the Student Success Center is here to help you pass the GED or the HiSET.
It's not bad for a full-time college student to not have a job. It's the equivalent of a full-time job to keep up with college studies. But college seniors need some work experience to land their first job after graduation. Look for summer internships or externships (shorter experiences between semesters).
A college student is considered to be enrolled on a full-time basis for student financial aid purposes if they are enrolled for at least 12 credits a semester. Since a class typically requires at least three credits, 12 credits will require four classes per semester. Half-time enrollment requires at least six credits.
Short answer: Full-time employment is usually considered between 30-40 hours a week, while part-time employment is usually less than 30 hours a week.

Have completed a minimum of 45 college units OR are in you final semester/term for your certificate. If you have credits from another college/institution, you will need to have official transcripts and AP scores on file with Admission.

An associate's degree is an academic program taken at the undergraduate level (the first stage after secondary school). It typically takes two years full-time to complete an associate's degree.
An associate degree is an undergraduate degree awarded after a course of post-secondary study lasting two to three years. It is a level of qualification between a high school diploma, GED, and a bachelor's degree. In the United States, the associate degree may allow transfer into the third year of a bachelor's degree.
A primary part of GCC's mission is to prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions. The number of transfers fluctuates from year to year but has generally increased. The overall number of transfers is strongly affected by the transfer policies of the four-year institutions.

Drop ClassesYou may drop a class by using My Canyons until the withdrawal deadline. If you drop your class prior to the drop deadline, no record will appear on your transcript for that class. If you drop a class after the drop deadline but before the withdrawal deadline, a W will appear on your transcript as a grade.
