When assassins sent by Roth attempt to kill Michael by shooting through the windows of his bedroom, Kay is present and nearly killed, but everyone manages to escape unharmed.
Vincenzo "Vincent" Corleone (né Mancini) was the illegitimate son of Santino "Sonny" Corleone and Lucy Mancini. Vincent succeeded Michael Corleone as the Don of the Corleone family.

Pacino, 52 at the time of the film's release, had to be aged to play Corleone.
Upon his father's death, Michael succeeds him as the don of the Corleone crime family. In June 2003, Michael Corleone was recognized as the 11th most iconic villain in film history by the American Film Institute, although some critics consider him to be a tragic hero.

The courtship served a dual purpose: Michael would show respect for the Vitelli family, his future in-laws, and for him to honor the fact she was a "respectable" young woman- a virgin. After some time, Signor and Signora Vitelli gave their blessing for Michael to marry Apollonia.
