Universal Studios Hollywood reopened on Friday to a sold-out crowd. The popular Southern California theme park had been closed for more than a year due to the pandemic. The entire opening weekend sold out, according to a park official.

April and May are some of the best months to visit Universal Studios. This is the 'shoulder season' when you'll get the best of peak season and low season perks. You can expect warm comfortable weather and less crowds at the park as long as you avoid any seasonal breaks and school holidays.

With the current restrictions and limitations, I think Universal is more worthwhile for families, and Disney is probably better for adults-only trips. After visiting both parks, I think Universal Orlando Resort is the obvious choice for a family-friendly destination.
With only a 2 day itinerary, it is wise to choose a park-to-park admission ticket. This will allow you to visit both parks on the same day if you like, as well as ride aboard the Hogwarts Express (a highlight for Harry Potter fans). I also suggest purchasing a Universal Express Pass if it is within your budget.
Universal Studios Hollywood is better suited to adults who prefer to see shows and want to have the real Hollywood treatment along with an evening of entertainment at CityWalk. Whereas Disneyland is better to suited to adults who are looking for thrill rides, character meets and to stay on site.
Is Universal Studios Orlando Better Than Universal Studios Hollywood? Orlando is bigger, has 2 parks with more space and more to offer guests overall. While Universal Studios Hollywood is smaller it gives a more unique experience to visitors and is less of a theme park.
If you 'have to see every show and ride every ride', you'll need a whole day. If you just want a taste of the attractions -- a couple of live shows and a handful of rides -- 6 hours is plenty.
