On the Galaxy S9 and S9+, there's a hidden new feature and it allows you to measure your current blood pressure. Before you start checking on your phone, do note that this new feature isn't available out of the box. You'll need to install an My BP Lab app which is available officially for US users.
So, should you use your Samsung Galaxy S9 underwater? We don't believe you should. Whilst the IP68 waterproof rating is very impressive, it's only scored against water, and not any of the other elements you might find when swimming.
Heart rate sensor (pulse oximeter)The S20 does away with Samsung's heart rate sensor, a feature that's been with the S series for a long time. If you don't have a fitness band or smartwatch with this functionality and absolutely need a phone that can check your pulse, the S10 and S10+ are the way to go.

All you have to do is sit down in a comfortable position, cover the sensor on the rear panel with the index finger, raise your arm and phone to the same level as the heart, and let the phone record blood pressure for few seconds.
The accuracy of the wearables at detecting baseline heart rate within five bpm was 100 percent, 100 percent and 94 percent for Apple, Samsung and Fitbit, respectively. The accuracy within 10 bpm was 100 percent, 100 percent and 88 percent for Apple, Samsung and Fitbit, respectively.

The Samsung health app measures sleep by monitoring your sleep habits. This means that the Samsung wearable devices such as the Samsung Gear S, have an internal gyroscope inside. The gyroscope is meant to detect movement, even when you are asleep.
Samsung phones are capable of tracking a user's steps through the S Health app with OS Android 5.0 Kit Kat or higher. Non-Samsung phones are capable of tracking a user's steps through the Google Fit app. Google Fit can be downloaded for free from the Play Store.
But the app can be tricked into thinking you're walking or running when you're riding a bike or car at slow speeds, as the motions your phone makes are similar. Because of this, we recommend disabling Samsung Health's step counting feature while riding in a vehicle.
There are today free pedometer applications available for download to cell phones, thus enabling measurements by a device already worn. Only one application and cell phone combination showed a good accuracy with reasonable low standard deviation, especially in one of the cell phone positions.
