Comcast is terrible because of its lousy customer service, predatory pricing, monopoly business practices, aggressive customer retention policy, unethical political hiring, and profit-driven corporate culture. As a result, many new customers don't realize that they are getting the same lousy service from Comcast.

How to Check Signal Strength on Comcast Internet
- Open your Web browser. Clear the current homepage address from your address bar.
- Type "192.168. 100.1" in the address bar and press the "Enter" key.
- Click the "Signal" tab.

Reset the box
- Turn everything off at the wall.
- Check that all cables are securely and firmly in place.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug your TV box (not the television set) in and turn it on.
- Wait another 60 seconds, or until the lights on the TV box have stopped flashing.
- Plug everything else back in and turn it all back on.
Make sure you've tightened all cable connections from the wall to your device, turned on your TV and TV Box, checked your remote batteries and that your TV is set to the right input. If none of these worked, tap Continue. We'll scan your device for potential issues. Choose a System Refresh or Restart a Single TV Box.
Restart Using the Power ButtonPress and hold the Power button located on the front of the TV Box for 10 seconds. The TV Box should automatically restart.
Most televisions will also need to be on either channel 3 or 4 when using a coaxial connection. If you're using an HDMI cable, take note of which HDMI input the cord is plugged into on your television, as most televisions today have multiple HDMI inputs.

The difference of signal losses over coax cable length can be very problematic in large TV systems and long cable runs as you have to consider signal losses at different frequencies on the same cable. Over distance this can cause the higher frequency signals to become weaker in relation to the lower frequency signals.
The signal being received may be weak. If using an over-the-air antenna, make sure the coaxial cable connection is secure and don't use a signal splitter. The antenna may need to be adjusted to improve the signal quality. If using cable or satellite, make sure the connection to the back of the TV is secure.
In most cases, it is very important for cable modems that the return signal is clear and unrestricted, that is why cable amplifiers may often degrade the performance of the cable modem. The exception being weak incoming signals, which is best handled by the cable company itself.
Unscrew the coaxial cable connection from the back of the TV box. Unscrew the coaxial cable from the cable wall outlet (or splitter). Reattach the coaxial cable to both the TV box (RF IN or CABLE IN) and the cable wall outlet (or splitter), ensuring they are finger-tight. Reattach the power cable to your TV box.
Coaxial cable comes in varying lengths. The shorter and thicker the cable is rated will determine the strength of the signal transmitted. It is important to choose the right cable length and thickness. In radio systems, cable length is comparable to the wavelength of the signals transmitted.
Check if the tone is heard from the internal speaker of the multimeter or not. There should be no sound as there is no electrical connection between the center wire/tip and the outer jacket/wire. If you hear any noise, then it means the insulation in the coaxial cable is broken and it is the reason for the signal loss.
Thankfully, there are some simple tips and tricks that will help you get optimal reception with your indoor antenna.
- Find out where the broadcast towers are in your area. Aiming your antenna at TV transmission towers can improve reception.
- Place the antenna in or near a window.
- Go high.
- Test different antenna placements.
It is recommended that you use as little coaxial cable as you can. Using too much coaxial cable can result in as much as a 1/3 of the signal being lost. Also do not coil the coaxial cable as this can cause signal loss. Instead let the cord lay uncoiled if possible.
If you have a coax cable without a connector, installing your own is a simple task. Strip the wire and expose its inner conductor. Then push a connector over it and crimp it in place. For tight spaces, use a right-angle connector to avoid bending the cable too much.
We were not impressed by the first-generation xFi Pods, which had poor throughput. The new-and-improved xFi Pods Gen 2, however, which measured five times faster than the originals in our tests, are a great option for most Xfinity customers.
WiFi extenders can, in fact, expand the range of your wireless network. But their effectiveness is limited by a host of factors, including the speed of the internet connection coming into your home, the distance from your router, the areas in your home in need of WiFi coverage, and the WiFi demands of your family.
Typically wifi doesn't get much further than a 50-100 feet, particularly in residential locations.

Improper posting of your Xfinity Pods can cause it to go offline. Ensure that you are following the recommended spacing guidelines. When spacing your pods, here is what you should keep in mind: When plugging in your Pod, ensure that it is not in an outlet with a switch, as it may increase the chances of interference.
