The CRN stands for Common Reference Number and consists of 12 digits. The CRN is issued to members of the Social Security System (SSS) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) when they apply for a Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) card. The CRN also serves as the ID number of your UMID card.
It is available on the bottom left corner of the your credit/debit card. You can also know your CRN by sending a SMS 'CRN' to 9971056767 from your registered mobile number.
How to get UMID ID online
- Visit the SSS website and download the UMID application form.
- Please read the instructions on the document's last page before filling it.
- Write in capital letters using blue or black ink and write "N/A" where information needed does not apply to you.
- Present a legible and clean form.
You can find your CRN for SSS at the front upper right side of your UMID ID card. It is a 12-digit number issued by Social Security System for privately employed individuals or issued by GSIS for government-employed personnel when they apply for their respective UMID ID.
If you have a UMID ID with a CRN. I suggest that you register in sss online at the website or using the sss mobile app. The agency knows your number, but one way for you to view it is to register for an online account. Go to sss.gov.ph and visit the “member†link under the portal.

- Go to an SSS branch with a UMID enrollment facility. Not all SSS branches accommodate UMID applications.
- Submit the UMID requirements.
- Have your biometrics taken.
- Wait for your UMID card delivery.

For first time LBP issued UMID eCard holder,
- Go to any GSIS GW@PS kiosk.
- Place your ecard Plus on the GW@PS Kiosk card reader.
- Touch the screen to select any of your pre-registered fingers.
- Very lightly, put the finger you selected on the fingerprint scanner to activate your ecard Plus.

Apply In-Person[edit]To apply you will need to go to any SSS Branch and fill out the Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) Card Application form. The form is available through SSS's website. A link is provided under 'Documents to Use' section which you can click to download the form.

You can easily get your payment reference number using the SSS Text Inquiry system. But first, you'll need to register by texting SSS REG <SS Number> <Birthday MM/DD/YYYY> to 2600. For example: SSS REG 0529310429 07/20/1990.
Upon payment without PRN, SSS will request members to update their contact information in the database. The member will then receive their PRN via SMS for their next payment of contributions.
Register or Login to My. SSS. This is the easiest and quickest way to know your SSS number online. Simply login to your SSS account on the website or mobile app and you will immediately see your SSS number.
