Look for the 4-digit code printed on the front of your card just above and to the right of your main credit card number. This 4-digit code is your Card Security Code.
American Express cards have a four-digit code printed on the front side of the card above the number. Diners Club, Discover, JCB, MasterCard, and Visa credit and debit cards have a three-digit card security code. The code is the final group of numbers printed on the back signature panel of the card.
For Mastercard®, Visa® and Discover® credit cards, the CVV number is a three-digit number on the back of the card. So just to recap: When you're making a purchase online and you're asked to input your CVV number, either look at the back of your card or the front, depending on the issuer.
For Visa/Mastercard, the three-digit CVV number is printed on the signature panel on the back of the card immediately after the card's account number. For American Express, the four-digit CVV number is printed on the front of the card above the card account number.
The debit card security code can usually be found on the back of the card on the right of the signature panel. Instead of being embossed like your card number, it's printed in small black letters. Some cards may also have the security code printed on the front, to the right of the card number.
Whenever you access, change personal information, or add new contact information to your Microsoft account, a security code is generated and sent to either an email address or mobile phone number in your account security information. You're then prompted to enter that code to confirm the change.
First 6 digits for Visa and MasterCard are code numbers for the issuing bank. Any merchant is not obliged to require the CVV/CVV2. However, card payments with CVVs can result in lesser interchange rates (merchant fees). Even if you cancel the reservation, your card will be charged for a little cancellation fees.
