According to the Mahabharata, a fight breaks out at a festival among the Yadavas, who end up killing each other. Mistaking the sleeping Krishna for a deer, a hunter named Jara shoots an arrow that fatally injures him. Krishna forgives Jara and dies.She was the daughter of Shoora of the Vrishnis, given away when just a child to her father's childless friend Kuntibhoja. Kunti, Madri and Gandhari are said to be born from the body parts of the God-Women Siddhi, Kriti and Mati respectively--so says the Mahabharata.
The sage Dwaipayana gave a boon to Gandhari that she would be blessed with 100 sons, the Kauravas. The urgency of giving birth to sons was hidden in the reason that whoever, of Kunti and Gandhari, gives birth to sons first, would probably be favoured for the Hastinapur throne in their succession plan.
In the Mahabharata epic, Pandu (Sanskrit: ???? Pā??u, lit. yellowish, whitish, pale), was the king of Hastinapur, the son of Ambalika and Vyasa. He is more popularly known as the earthly father of the Pandavas, who were called so after him.

Gandhari. Gāndhārī ??????? was the daughter of Subala, the king of Gandhara (modern day Kandahar), a region spanning northwestern Pakistan and eastern Afghanistan, from which her name is derived. Gandhari's marriage was arranged to Dhritarashtra, the eldest prince of the Kuru kingdom.
Dushala felt lonely after her husband's death. After the Mahabharata War ended, her son, Suratha was made the king of Sindhu. Arjuna felt shattered with the death, as he cared for Dushala, and he had killed her only son. Hence, in order to compensate, he left Sindhu to Suratha's son (Dushala's grandson).
was the sister of Duryodhana in the Indian epic Mahābhārata. She was married to Jayadratha the king of Sindhu and Sauvira. Jayadratha was slain by Arjuna in the Kurukshetra War. Dussala had a son named Suratha.
As per Mahabharata Gandhari did not give birth to 100 sons one at a time, when she was pregnant Saint Vyaas gave her a boon that she will be the mother of 100 sons. She and Kunti got pregnant at the same time but Gandhari wanted to give birth to a son before Kunti so that her son becomes the King for being the elder.
But in India, as the pilgrimage to Kurukshetra for the eclipse indicates, the Mahabharata is a living text that permeates contemporary thought and spirit. Its events may have occurred 5,000 or 3,000 years ago. It was probably first written down some 2,000 years ago or a little earlier.

The present-day Hastinapur is a town in the Doab region of Uttar Pradesh in India, around 37 km from Meerut and 90 km north-east of Delhi on National Highway 119.
But, as a result of Kindama's curse, he died. Madri committed sati as she was the cause of his death. Kunti was left helpless in the forest with her children. After the death of Pandu and Madri, Kunti took care of all five Pandava children taking them back to Hastinapur.
Eklavya is called as one of the foremost of kings in the Rajasuya Yajna where he honours Yudhishthira with his shoes. Though he didn't have his right thumb, he was noted as a very powerful archer and warrior. He was killed by Shri Krishna when he tried to attack Dwaraka and the Yadavas.

Bhima asks Yudhishthira why Draupadi died early and couldn't continue the journey to heaven. Yudhishthira claims that Draupadi suffered from the vice of partiality, in her affections for Arjuna. The remaining Pandavas continue their journey. Next, Sahadeva dies on the way.
Originally named Devavrata, he became known as Bhishma after he took the bhishamna pratigya ('fierce oath') — the vow of lifelong Brahmacharya and of service to whoever sat on the throne of his father. Having joined his father's court, Bhishma was easily confirmed as the heir apparent.
Lord Yama explained that the Kauravas had been allowed into heaven because they died as warriors on the battlefield. This earned them so much merit and credit that it wiped out all their debts. Yudhisthira demanded to know where his brothers and his wife were. He was then taken to hell.
Amba was the eldest daughter of the king of Kashi. She had two younger sisters Ambika and Ambalika. Amba is a commonly used word in Sanskrit meaning mother, also with Vedic linkage as the mother of the Vedas.
He was born on an island in the river Yamuna. Due to his dark complexion, Vyasa was also given the name Krishna, in addition to the name Dwaipayana, meaning "island-born". According to the Vishnu Purana, Vyasa was born on an island of the Yamuna at Kalpi. She conceived and immediately gave birth to Vyasa.

Vichitravirya. Vichitravirya (Sanskrit: ????????????, vicitravīrya) was a king in ancient India. In the Mahabharata he is the younger son of queen Satyavati and king Shantanu and grandfather of the Pandavas and Kauravas.
