The main migrated tribes include the Lenape (Delaware), Miami, Ottawa, Seneca and Wyandot. The 1838 forced 1,000-mile migration of more than 16,000 Cherokee claimed the lives of 4,000 to 6,000 tribe members. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 also applied to tribes north of the Ohio River. In Ohio that included the Seneca, Delaware, Shawnee, Ottawa and Wyandot.
