How do I activate my child's Greenlight card?
- Navigate to your child's dashboard.
- Tap on the debit card icon next to “Manage Card” to open their card management page.
- Select "Activate a new card", and you will be prompted to enter the expiration date of your child's Greenlight card to activate the card.
Today, only a few prepaid card issuers don't require a SSN for activation, requiring instead an alternate form of identification — such as an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, or ITIN, or other foreign ID number. For the most part, though, you will have to prove your identity in some way to get a card.
Visit started to activate your card online. This is a secure page, meaning any information you send through the site is encrypted and is therefore only able to be used by Green Dot. Enter your card number, expiration date, and CVV.
Your card registration requires further review. This will take 2 business days and then your temporary card will be ready for use. You will receive your personalized card in 2 weeks.

- Note the Web address for activation on the prepaid card's packaging, or on the sticker pasted on the front of the card.

You can use the Cash Back Green Dot card and link to your Cash App account to send money from the app. You can quickly transfer money from Greendot to Cash App account as well as other bank accounts as per your need.
The only way to really add physical cash to your Cash App account at a store is by purchasing a Green Dot MoneyPak card and using cash to load money onto that card and then linking that card to your Cash App account.
