You can change the default source by pressing Menu on the front panel button and selecting Source Control, and then selecting Default Source.
- Press the Menu button on the front of the monitor to access the OSD main menu.
- Navigate to Source Control by pressing the + (plus) or – (minus) buttons on the monitor.
If your monitor seems to be receiving power, but no signal is provided when plugged in, you could have a frayed video cable. If your AOC monitor supports VGA, DVI, or HDMI, try a different type of cable to see if your cable or port is damaged. You can easily buy these cables at most electronics manufacturers.
- Turn off your computer.
- Unplug the cable running from your monitor to your PC and plug it back in, making sure the connection is firm.
- Reattach the cable running from your monitor to your PC.
- Replace your monitor with another monitor if possible.
- Open your PC case and locate your video card.
Push the “Menu” button on the lower right side of the AOC to access the monitor's control panel. Press the up or down button, located on the lower right corner of the front panel, to select an OSD setting, such as “Brightness” or “Contrast.” Push the up or down button to adjust the selected OSD setting to your liking.
In the Advanced display settings window, locate the name of the monitor that is having the Input not supported on monitor issue. Click on Display adapter properties for Display. Navigate to the Monitor tab. Move down to Screen refresh rate.
Connecting the Monitor1 Connect the power cable to the AC port on the back of the monitor. 2 Connect one end of the 15-pin D-Sub cable to the back of the monitor and connect the other end to the computer's D-Sub port. 3 Turn on your monitor and computer. If your monitor displays an image, installation is complete.
Press the "Input" or "Source" button on your remote control. The television will display the name of the input port that is providing the signal. Continue pressing the "Input" or "Source" button until the television display changes from "HDMI 1" to "HDMI 2."
While this may not work well on older television models – and may or may not work on present models, depending on the design – it is generally possible to change the TV's input mode by pressing a button labeled "Input," then using either the channel or volume keys to select a desired input from the menu that appears.
Most televisions will also need to be on either channel 3 or 4 when using a coaxial connection. If you're using an HDMI cable, take note of which HDMI input the cord is plugged into on your television, as most televisions today have multiple HDMI inputs.
Check the TV for any buttons that may be stuck which could be causing the undesired operation. Auto-program the channels on the TV. In some rare instances, use of other wireless infrared devices in close proximity may cause this type of issue. Move the other devices away from the TV.
Controlling the TV and speakersWith Google Assistant, you can also turn the TV on and off with voice commands. This will allow you to control the volume, turn the TV on and off, switch inputs, and tune to specific channels on your cable box.
Change the Source of a Samsung TV
- 2015 TVs and older: 1 Press the Source button on the remote control to cycle through the Source Inputs. 2 Choose the source of your choice based on the input connection used.
- 2016 TVs and newer: 1 Press the Home button on the remote control to bring up the Smart Hub. 2 Toggle through the menu to select Source.
You can simultaneously turn on your TV and Chromecast and even change to the correct HDMI input without ever touching your TV remote. This is possible because Chromecast supports a common technology called HDMI-CEC. Although most HDTVs offer HDMI-CEC, you might have to enable the feature under TV settings.
From the Home screen, navigate to Settings>TV inputs. On the TV inputs screen, select the input you want to rename, select Rename, and then choose a new name and icon from the provided list.
To turn on your TV without the remote, just walk over to the TV and hit the power button.
- Read through any manuals that came with your television if you still have them.
- Check if your TV has a visible touch power button.
- Check the the left and right sides and the top of your TV, some TVs have power buttons there.
