Bose is discontinuing its noise-masking Sleepbuds following customer complaints that the items failed to charge fully and that they unexpectedly powered down. The decision to stop offering the $249 wireless earbuds was disclosed Thursday in an email to customers.
They may not be cheap but a good sleep is so worth it. You can always try them out. Bose has a pretty good return policy if you change your mind. Been using them for about a month, sleeping better than I have for months (snoring partner) the shower and waves sounds tend to be best for me.
The Bose® Limited Warranty lasts one year from the purchase date for electronic products, systems, and powered speaker components, accessories, and other products not listed here unless specified in the Owner's Guide. The Headset X has a five-year Limited Warranty.
The Sleepbuds are truly wireless earbuds designed to stay in your ears overnight. As you go to sleep, they play audio tracks that drown out typical evening disturbances like street noise, loud neighbors, or a snoring partner. They don't play music or any other audio from external devices. Period.
When used appropriately, sleeping with earphones, earbuds or headphones can be safe, and they help you fall asleep more easily. In case of headphones with music, you have to be careful with the volume of the music so that you don't put pressure on your ears and damage them over a period of time.
Bose noise-masking sleepbuds are uniquely designed for sleep. But they don't stream music or cancel noise. These tiny, wireless earbuds use pre-loaded, soothing sounds to cover up unwanted noises, so you can get to sleep — and stay asleep.
Billed as a set of noise-masking earbuds, the Bose Sleepbuds do not offer any noise cancellation or a very high level of isolation. It will not damage your hearing due to noise exposure on its own. Very tiny and unobtrusive, the Sleepbuds sit just outside the ear canal, though they do act as a physical barrier to it.
If you haven't already, try switching earbuds, so the right bud is in the left ear and the left bud is in your right ear. If your right ear still sounds quiet, see an ear doctor because the problem is you, not the headphones. However, if the new headphones have the same problem, then nothing is wrong with your earbud.
Sweat is corrosive. If you wear your Bose QuietComfort headphones in the gym, then sweat is going to ruin them. Moisture isn't good for electronics and the salt in your sweat will break down the cushioning of your headphones.
Sweatproof ≠ Waterproof
Waterproof devices are usually rated to IPX7 standards and will resist water ingress up to the pressure of being stationary under 1 meter/3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes. This is most important for those looking for swim-safe earbuds. The "mesh" thing is what we call an audio filter. What it does is that it filters the sound to remove undesirable bits of it like harsh treble and also to prevent dust from entering the drivers. If you cannot hear the difference dont worry as the difference is very small.

Answer:
- Before the headphones are stored/put away, wipe off the earpads with a clean towel or a paper towel.
- On a regular basis, wipe off the earpads using a damp rag and a small amount of Dawn dish soap.
- Exposure of the earpads to sunlight for 60 minutes can also lessen the odor.
Best answer: The Bose QC35s are not water or sweat resistant. If you need a pair of headphones for working out, we recommend Bose's SoundSport Free instead.
The response from Bose was: "Generally, we don't recommend that the QC35 headphones be used during exercising, mainly because sweat can prematurely break down the headband and cushion material. However if you're doing a generally light workout, you might be fine wearing them."
Best answer: No, unfortunately, the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are not water or sweat resistant.
Sweat can break headphones in two ways. Firstly, the moisture on your skin will soak into the leather cushion pads. And it's not just an issue for those wearing headphones in the gym. We might sweat more during exercise, but moisture damage can occur whenever we're sweating.
Apple Support suggests using a “soft, dry, lint-free cloth” to clean AirPods, but if you've tried you'll know this doesn't do much to help low or muffled sound quality. To bring that bass back you need to get the built up wax out. You need to do an AirPod deep clean.
It might be this setting. The AirPods are supposed to have the same volume level unless the balance is changed. While using your AirPods (e.g.; listening music), turn down the volume to zero, on your device, go to the Bluetooth settings (e.g.; if it is iPhone or iPad: Settings > Bluetooth) and disconnect your AirPods.
Lifestyle and home remedies
- Soften the wax. Use an eyedropper to apply a few drops of baby oil, mineral oil, glycerin or hydrogen peroxide in your ear canal.
- Use warm water. After a day or two, when the wax is softened, use a rubber-bulb syringe to gently squirt warm water into your ear canal.
- Dry your ear canal.
Go to settings>General>Accessibility, and scroll down to hear. There should be a slider under Mono Audio. If the slider is nearer to the right, all you have do is slip it to the center. The closer it is to the center, the more likely it is that it will automatically jump to it.
If you must share, disinfect them with a cotton ball dampened with disinfecting spray or rubbing alcohol before you use them again. In fact, you should clean your earbuds at least once a week whether you share them or not. And be sure to store them in a clean, dry place.
How to clean your earbuds
- Remove the gel or foam ear tips from the earbuds.
- Place these in the warm soapy water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
- Brush any excess dirt or wax from the ear tips.
- Rinse the ear tips with clean water and let them air dry.
LPT: If one side of your in-ear earbuds sounds muffled or has low volume, dunk it in hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes while playing loud music on it. This may work for regular earbuds too.
Disinfecting Your iPhone
- With a cleaning spray or 70 percent isopropyl alcohol, moisten a microfiber cloth until it's just damp.
- Wipe down the iPhone, front and back, with the microfiber cloth.
- Dip a Q-Tip or cotton swab and go over the edges of the iPhone to make sure to disinfect all of the crevices.
Remove the tips from the earbuds. Apply a small amount of hydrogen peroxide (maximum concentration, 3%) to the mesh surface of the earbud using a soft cloth or tissue (be careful not to allow excess liquid to enter the open port on the earbud) Let the earbuds sit for five minutes to allow the wax to soften.
Caring for your Bose® product
- To prolong the life of your ear cushions, gently pat the cushions with a soft cloth after extensive use.
- Do not place any stress or pull on the input cable.
- Be sure the earcup ports are clear of lint, dust and debris.
- Periodically wipe the headphones with a damp cloth.
Caring for your Bose® product
- To clean the headset, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface carefully. Do not use liquids or sprays.
- To clean the tip, gently peel it from the end of the earpiece. Wash the tip with mild soap and rinse it.
- To clean the wire mesh under the tip, gently peel the tip from the end of the earpiece.
Regularly wipe down headphones' earpads and tips with a mixture of soap and warm water on a lightly damp cloth. Ideally, you should do this once a week. Make sure the headphones are off, if powered, and disconnected from your device. Dry fully with a soft cloth immediately.
Cleaning the unit
When the outside of the unit is dirty, clean it by wiping with a soft dry cloth. If the unit is particularly dirty, soak a cloth in a dilute solution of neutral detergent, and wring it well before wiping. Do not use solvents such as thinner, benzene, or alcohol, as they may damage the surface.
