Remove stains from the inside of the printer. If the inside of the printer becomes dirty, printed paper may get dirty, so we recommend performing cleaning regularly.
To clean the lower rollers:
- Use a prepackaged alcohol-soaked wipe. Place and hold the cleaning wipe on top of the white and black rollers.
- Use the thumbwheel to turn the rollers.
- Scrub each roller thoroughly until clean.
Printer cleaning sheets are a special type of paper that you can use to clean the debris caught inside your printer.
Soak the PrintheadFill a bowl with warm water (or a mixture of water and vinegar to clean the printhead) and place the printhead directly in it. Let it sit for five minutes or so. Pull the printhead out of the water and use a lint-free cloth or paper towel to remove the dried ink.
The paper might not be engaged with the feed rollers. The paper-width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly. The paper tray is not completely inserted into the product. The paper settings in the print driver do not match the paper loaded in the paper tray.
The transfer roller inside a LaserJet printer is responsible for attracting toner from the cartridge drum and onto the paper. It uses opposing electrical charges to attract the toner particles. Printer transfer roller are consumables, similar to automobile tires.
Black lines and smudges on printed output can be due to dirty printers. The accumulation of dirt, dust, or toner on a printer's rollers or transfer belt can leave tracks on the page when the paper moves through the printer. That will leak toner onto the printer and paper, which leaves black marks on the printed output.
Clean the pickup roller
- Unplug the power cord from the product, and then remove the pickup roller.
- Dab a lint-free cloth in isopropyl alcohol (or water), and then scrub the roller.
- Using a dry, lint-free cloth, wipe the pickup roller to remove loosened dirt.
- If the dots are random on the page, check for loose toner inside the machine and around the drum area. A toner cartridge that is leaking or has leaked inside the machine will need to be replaced. Do not remove the toner cartridge from the Brother machine until you are ready to replace it.
Explanation:
- TI models: Press [SCI/ENG]. The display shows FLO SCI ENG. Use the left arrow key to select FLO.
- Casio models: Press [SHIFT][MODE][6:Fix]. You are then prompted to enter a number between 0 and 9.
- Sharp models: Press [SET UP] [1:FSE] [0:FIX]. This sets the calculator to use a fixed number of decimal places.
- Just turn your calculator with the screen facing up.
- There's adhesive holding the screen protector onto the main case.
- Take a strong suction cup and place it directly on the screen.
- Take a microfiber cloth and, making sure it never touches any glue, wipe off the dust.
Memory OperationTo clear the memory (set it's value to 0), press the key 'MC'. To recall the value stored in memory use the key 'MR'. To add to the value in memory, press 'M+'. To subtract a value from the memory use the key 'M-'.
On the back of each calculator, you can see a small slide with an arrow on it. If you push slightly on this while sliding it down, the slide will come off. Then you can see a small button cell battery which you can replace. Just take it out with a small object like a paper-clip and replace the battery.
Use distilled water, or softened water, because hard water will leave calcium deposits. Alternatively, you can secure the parts to be washed in a dishwasher, and run the dishwasher for about ten minutes. Remove the key caps as needed, and wash and rinse them.
Wipe off excess alcohol with tissues, and let the parts sit for a while to dry out. Then reassemble the calculator, pop in a fresh set of batteries and see if it will come back to life. Whenever water gets into electronic gadgets, remember the first thing to do is take out the batteries (if possible).
To disinfect a TI calculator in an effort to help prevent the transmission of a virus or other illness: 1. Use an “alcohol prep pad†of 70% isopropyl alcohol (available at any pharmacy or general drug store) to wipe down the calculator's screen, keypad, or back. Do not attempt to clean the inside of any ports.
