The DStv WiFi Connector is a device that links your DStv Explora to the router in your home. It does so easily and wirelessly. By linking your DStv Explora to the internet, you get access to Connected Services – namely DStv Catch Up Plus and Showmax (separate subscription required).
If you download a Catch Up title on the app prior to leaving, you will be able to watch that on your device while travelling. How can I download my DStv Catch Up shows to watch them offline? You can download shows on our DStv Now app when you have an internet connection and watch them later, when you are offline.
To connect an Android phone to a wireless network:
- Press the Home button, and then press the Apps button.
- Under “Wireless and Networks”, make sure "Wi-Fi" is turned on, then press Wi-Fi.
- You may have to wait a moment as your Android device detects wireless networks in range, and displays them in a list.
To set up the Decoder internet access You need the following:
- SPLITTER.
- LINKSYS CABLE MODEM.
- RJ – 45 NIC Cable.
- Ethernet Cable.
- Router(WIRELESS OR WIRED if you intend to use more than one pc)
- DECODER(mytv, hitv, dstv, daarsat etc)

Connect any one of the four cables from the satellite dish directly to the LNB input on the back of the decoder. 1. If you have a HD TV, use the supplied HDMI cable and connect it to the HDMI port (marked 1) on the back of the decoder, then connect the other end to the HDMI port on the TV.

- Connect your TV to the internet using an ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.

You can also download or stream shows from DStv Catch Up onto your tablet or smartphone. And when you connect your DStv Explora to the internet, you can schedule recordings from your smart device. DStv Now is available on selected iOS and Android tablets plus smartphones.Once your decoder/STB is on, press menu on your remote and scroll to network. Here, you will see the list of internet protocols supported by your device. Select the one you wish to use and press the corresponding button to connect. Enter your WiFi password if you select WiFi or enter your APN if you select 3G.
First, connect the coaxial cable of each decoder to the smart LNB. If you have recent or newer decoder models then use the uni-cable ports on the smart LNB. Otherwise, if you have old decoder models then you can use the universal port. Remember Explora decoders use the uni-cable ports.
First your TV must be high definition and have a HDMI port. Then you can add an apple TV box, and then watch NETFLIX through the apple TV. If you have an Explora DSTV decoder you can connect it to the internet and watch SHOWMAX through the decoder.
Subscribers can now activate their DStv Mobile device online by creating a Connect account to activate the Drifta, Drifta USB and the Walka TV. Other developments include the introduction of a bookmark application for Java ME, BlackBerry and Android devices.
How do I access DMX or the radio channels on the DStv HD Decoder?
- When watching TV, enter the number of the audio channel on the remote,
- or Press GRID, find the audio channel you want to go to and press OK,
- or Press the DStv button, select “Watch Now”, go to “Audio Channels” and press OK.
Re: How to connect two TV sets to a 4U DSTV decoder in different rooms. Wire from the dish goes into decoder as per normal. Connect the tv closest to the decoder via the hdmi / av cables to that tv. Take the out cable at the back of the decoder to the other tv, no splitter needed.
