Your Skype ID can be found on your Skype profile, in both the iPhone and Android mobile app, and in the desktop app.
Skype for Business couldn't find a Server for yourdomain.com. There might be an issue with the Domain Name System (DNS) configuration for your domain. Please contact your support team.
How to log into Skype for Business (Windows desktop client)
- To find Skype for Business, click the Windows start button and start typing “Skype for Business“.
- Enter the Sign-In address.
- This next screen will ask you for a password.
- From the Pick an account screen, please select the option that lists your Minnstate.edu credentials.
To download and set up Skype:
- Go to Skype.com and select Sign In in the upper-right corner.
- Select Create an account, and the sign up form will appear.
- Review the terms of service and the Skype Privacy Statement, then click Continue.
- Your account has been created.
If you don't have the desktop version of Skype for Business, or don't have a Skype for Business account, you can use Skype Meetings App or Skype for Business Web App to join a Skype for Business meeting from your browser.
Configure general settings for one user
- Sign in with your work or school account.
- Choose Admin centers > Skype for Business.
- Choose Users.
- Choose which users you want to edit.
- In the right panel, choose Edit.
Be sure "Auto-detect server" is set to On. At the bottom of the screen, tap Sign in. You will see the following message: "We need your phone number with country and region codes." Confirm that your mobile phone number is being displayed (for example, +18125555555), and then tap Continue. Tap Continue again to finish.
Simply log in to web.skype.com and get down to business with a fully functional Skype in-browser application. It provides all your favourite features and it's available in one click.
- Go to the Skype sign in page.
- Select More sign-in options.
- Select Forgot my username.
- You'll be asked to either enter a phone number or an alternate email associated with your Microsoft account.
- We'll send a security code to the phone number or email you used.
Problem. Can't sign in to Lync Cannot sign in to Lync because your computer clock is not set correctly. To check your computer clock settings, open Date and Time in the Control Panel. Either date and time settings are incorrect, or the digital certificate file is not valid or installed on your computer.
Skype is free, but Skype for Business will cost you. There are two basic plans available for smaller companies. “Online Plan 1” costs $2 per user per month (with a yearly contract) and covers only the basics. Fundamentally you get very little over standard Skype with Online Plan 1, though.
Skype that you use at home is great for smaller businesses of up to 20 employees. Skype for Business lets you add up to 250 people to online meetings, provides enterprise-grade security, allows you to manage employee accounts, and is integrated into your Office apps. Microsoft Teams is replacing Skype for Business.
Clearing Skype for Business Cache in Windows
- Log out of Skype for Business.
- Delete any sign-in information.
- Exit Skype for Business.
- Navigate to Users > [Your Username] > AppData > Local > Microsoft > Office > 15.0 > Lync.
- Delete the sip_profileName folder.
- Delete all files in Tracing folder.
One needs to verify that is properly registered. Select the test you want to run (SfB/ Lync) and select the first option: Skype for Business Server Remote Connectivity test. Provide your Office 365 credentials and start the test. If any issues are detected, check your DNS configuration settings.
Open File Explorer, type %appdata% and hit Enter. You will be redirected to the current user's folders where you'll find the Skype folder. Open it and then navigate to the folder My Skype Received Files. Voila!
Open Windows Certificate Manager. To do this, press Windows + R, type certmgr. msc, and then click OK. Delete the certificate and try to sign in to Skype for Business Online.
Technically, contact information is stored in a pair of folders found in the user's Exchange mailbox. The contacts themselves are stored in a folder named Skype for Business Contacts which is visible to end users; metadata about the contacts are stored in a subfolder that is not visible to end users.
