Technically speaking, Sims don't drink alcohol, just like they don't have sex. They have drinks that gesture towards cocktails we have in real life: instead of a Screwdriver, Sims order a Wrench. Instead of a Dark and Stormy, they have Dim and Gusty. They even sort of get drunk.

Sims involved in an affair can be convinced to leave their spouse, which immediately divorces the Sim from their spouse. The Sim that was cheated on will not get the divorced moodlet. Once two Sims have established some Romantic Relationship, you can ask to be Boyfriend/Girlfriend at just 30% (1/3 of the bar). This will not likely come up just walking up to them, but if you simply pull off a few Romantic socials, the option will appear.

Interact with the romantic interest and choose "Romantic" options ("Flirt," "Compliment Appearance," etc.) until their relationship bubble says "So and So thinks you are being flirty." Interact with them, choose "Romantic," then choose "Propose Going Steady." If they accept, they will then be boyfriend/girlfriend.
If you're playing Sims 4 on PC, you need to press Control, Shift and C at the same time. On Xbox One or PS4, you need to press all four triggers/shoulder buttons at once. That looks pretty complicated, but it breaks down fairly easily. For '# of relationship strength', you'll need a numerical value.
Miscarriage per se does not occur in The Sims 2, but if a pregnant Sim dies, the baby will effectively be lost, as in the case of Olivia Monty's unborn baby. While Preteen Sims' relationships are similar to those of Teen and Adult Sims, they cannot have romantic relationships. If a Teen and a Preteen dislike each other, the teen might give a noogie to the preteen.
