Using the Admin Tool
- Connect to your WiFi network.
- Go to Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi. To change your Channel Selection, select Edit next to the WiFi channel (2.4 or 5 GHz) that you'd like to change, click the radio button for the channel selection field, then select your desired channel number.
- Select Save Settings.
Merely adding the network's name to your device's block list only hides the network name but does not affect the signal. Here are three ways you can effectively block your neighbor's WiFi signal: 1. The simplest way you can catch a good signal is to move your router away from your neighbor's router.
It's hidden in the sense that you can't find it amongst the other networks your router is broadcasting when you look for it using your router's web interface, so if you want to disable it, it's not there to disable with the rest of your networks. It is being broadcast. "Hidden Network" will be gone.
Tap Connect and wait for your Android device to establish a connection.
- Open the system menu.
- Click the WiFi icon and go to WiFi settings.
- Press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and select Connect to Hidden Network.
- Add a new hidden network.
- Enter the required information.
- Click Connect.
Hiding your network will give you false sense of security because you'll think your network is stronger than it really is. A prudent way to secure your network is to: Change the default password of the admin account used to configure your router. Use WPA2-AES encryption with a strong password.
Can a Wi-Fi router be hacked? It's entirely possible that your router might have been hacked and you don't even know it. By using a technique called DNS (Domain Name Server) hijacking, hackers can breach the security of your home Wi-Fi and potentially cause you a great deal of harm.
Windows 10:
- In the lower-right corner of your screen, click the WiFi icon.
- Click Network Settings > Wi-Fi > Hidden Network > Connect.
- Enter the SSID (network name).
- Click Next.
- Enter the network security key (password).
- Click Next. Your computer connects to the network.
There are two ways to find your network name and passwordFor Android devices, tap the menu icon in the upper-left corner of the screen, then tap Internet. Tap the Wireless Gateway. Select "Show WiFi Settings." Tap "Share" to send to yourself (or someone else) by text.
A hidden wireless network is a wireless network that isn't broadcasting its network ID (SSID). Because a hidden network doesn't broadcast, your PC can't find it, so the network has to find your PC.
To hide the SSIDs, go to Wi-Fi Settings and uncheck “Broadcast this Network name (SSID)” for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Click Save to save the settings as shown in Figure 1. If you wish to unhide the SSIDs, simply check the “Broadcast this Network name (SSID)” for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz and click Save.
Yes, it is possible to use two (or even more than two) routers on the same home network. The benefits of a two-router network include: Support for more wired devices: If the first router is the wired Ethernet kind, it supports a limited number of connected devices (typically only four or five).
The good news is that most modern routers act as dual- or tri-band routers. A dual-band router is one that broadcasts both a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signal from the same unit, essentially providing you with two Wi-Fi networks and the best of both worlds.
The main reason why there are two networks in your wireless internet router is that because they were designed to broadcast 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. To provide you with a wireless bandwidth that is twice or thrice faster than what you normally have since it can pick up 2.4 GHz and 5GHz bands.
Adding routers will not affect your Internet speed; it is preset by your service plan. It will, however, help your office network optimize the use of the speed assigned to you by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Tech Support
- From a computer connected by ethernet, open browser ype in the Address Bar 192.168.
- Click on Wireless Setup.
- To your left, click on the "Multiple SSID" link.
- Click the drop down in step ONE and select a name from the list separate from the main network name, (this should be in the box)
How to Isolate WiFi Guests from the LAN?
- Create the SSID2 for Guests and select the Isolate LAN option.
- Configure the WLAN Security Settings for SSID2.
- Go to Objects Setting >> Device Object.
- Select the Gateway Router's MAC then click OK.
- The Gateway Router's MAC has been created as a Device Object.
- Enable Attribute: Gateway MAC in this object and click OK.
Depending on the total amount of users you have on network, it might be wise to separate them. Too many hosts on a single subnet can lead to issues as all users would be in the same broadcast domain. This would allow wireless users to access resources on the wired network while breaking up the broadcast domains.
