How does Google Photos work? For those who don't have a Google device (like the Pixel phone), you can opt to automatically backup and sync your photos and videos as you take them. If you have an Android device, you can limit backup data usage, so you don't run out of data uploading things in the background.
Restore photos & videos
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
- At the top left, tap Menu Trash .
- Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.

Hello Sym, if you don't see your photos on Google Photos on the web and the app is stuck on uploading [x] amount of photos, this means the app is stuck and your photos are not automatically backing up. Please try resetting the app as follows: Android: Settings > Apps > Google Photos > Storage > Clear Storage/Data.
Photos on Google Photos are private by default unless you share them or tag people in your photo. You can see the photos you have shared with others by clicking on the Albums icon in the left hand column for desktop. You can also click the hamburger settings icon in the search box to see shared photos.
