AirDrop is a feature that uses Bluetooth to allow photo sharing between IOS devices, from iPhone 5/iPad 4, iPad mini, and iPod Touch 5. If you want to share photos using Bluetooth between an iPhone and an Android device, both devices need a photo sharing app installed.
To send files from Windows 10, in the Bluetooth window, click Send or receive files via Bluetooth. Click Send files, select your Bluetooth enabled device then click Next. Browse to the files you want to share and on your phone select Accept.
In terms of an ad-hoc feature, airdrop uses Bluetooth to establish a connection between devices and make file sharing easy. All that a user needs is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled on both devices. Once done, you are ready to share files on the go. Meaning that it isn't supported for Android users.
Bluetooth File Transfer allows you to transfer many types of files via Bluetooth between paired phones. Launch the app and tap on the menu button (which you can find on the bottom right in the action overflow menu). Then select More. Next tap on Send apps and select the ones that you would like to send.
Transfer Files from iPhone to Windows PC via Bluetooth
Step 2: Push the "Bluetooth" slider to "On". Step 3: Click your computer's Windows "Start" button. Step 4: Click "Control Panel," then "Hardware and Sound". Step 5: Click "Bluetooth Devices”, then Add.Smartphones generally have integrated Bluetooth hardware, and Bluetooth can be used to wirelessly transfer files between nearby devices. On Android, you'll need to open the file you want to share — for example, view the photo in the Gallery app — tap the share button, and then select the Bluetooth option.
Method 1.Transfer Music from Android to Android via Bluetooth
- Step 1: Turn on Bluetooth on both Android devices and pair Bluetooth devices. Select Bluetooth option in the settings then turn on it of both Android device for file sharing.
- Step 2: Share music files between two Android devices.
Here's how:
- Open Photos.
- Locate and open the photo to be shared.
- Tap the Share icon.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon (Figure B)
- Tap to select the Bluetooth device to share the file to.
- When prompted on the desktop, tap Accept to permit the sharing.
If your device doesn't have a file manager app, download one from the Google Play store. While iOS has a Files app, it doesn't generally allow Bluetooth transfers. Instead, it uses AirDrop for non-internet file transfers, which uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Tap the Bluetooth device you want to transfer the files to.
On a PC, follow these steps to copy a file to the Android tablet:
- Right-click the Bluetooth icon in the Notification Area on the desktop.
- Choose Send a File from the pop-up menu.
- Choose your Android tablet from the list of Bluetooth devices.
- Click the Next button.
To send files from Windows 10, in the Bluetooth window, click Send or receive files via Bluetooth. Click Send files, select your Bluetooth enabled device then click Next. Browse to the files you want to share and on your phone select Accept.
In Bluetooth & other devices settings, select Send or receive files via Bluetooth. In Bluetooth File Transfer, select Send files > choose the device you want to share to > Next. Select Browse > the file or files to share > Open > Next to send it > Finish.
Turn on Bluetooth on your PC if it's not on already. To do this, select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and turn on Bluetooth. Select Add Bluetooth or other device > Bluetooth. Choose the device and follow additional instructions if they appear, then select Done.
Make sure your iPhone is paired with your PC, turned on, and ready to receive files.
- On your PC, select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- In Bluetooth & other devices settings, select Send or receive files via Bluetooth.
First, connect your phone to a PC with a USB cable that can transfer files.
- Turn your phone on and unlock it. Your PC can't find the device if the device is locked.
- On your PC, select the Start button and then select Photos to open the Photos app.
- Select Import > From a USB device, then follow the instructions.
How to Import Pictures from a Cell Phone to a Laptop
- Turn on your phone and your laptop. Unlock both devices, if they are password protected.
- Connect the small end of the USB cable to your phone.
- Connect the standard end of the USB cable to your laptop's USB port (the port could be on the side or back of your laptop.) Windows will automatically detect your phone.
To transfer photos from your PC on any Android phone, plug your phone into your computer. You may need to connect your phone as a media device so that Windows can access its files. To do this, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap on the notification for USB connection or USB options.
Step 1: Pair a Bluetooth accessory
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Tap Connected devices Connection preferences. Bluetooth.
- Tap Pair new device.
- Tap the name of the Bluetooth device you want to pair with your phone or tablet.
- Follow any on-screen steps.

How to share files wirelessly on Android
- Download and install WiFi File Transfer from Google Play Store.
- Connect your Android device to the same WiFi network as your PC or laptop.
- Launch WiFi File Transfer app on your Android device.
- Tap on the Start button to initiate wireless file transfer.
Use USB cable
All you need to access your Android phone's files (and folders) on your PC is a USB cable (microUSB/USB Type-C). To transfer photos: Step 1: Connect the phone to PC via USB cable. Step 2: Connect as a media device: choose MTP option.Open the File Manager in your handset and select those data you want to transfer. After selected, hit the Menu button and choose "Share" option. You will see a window popping up, choose Bluetooth to transfer the selected. After that, you will get into the Bluetooth interface, set the paired phone as destination device.
While iOS users can easily share photos via Apple's Airdrop feature, sending images from an iPhone to an Android device used to be a little more challenging. Luckily, Google Photos is now available on the App Store. Compatible with both iOS and Android devices, it's an easy way to transfer images across both platforms.
Although the iPhone has built-in Bluetooth technology, wireless file transfer capabilities are limited by its operating system. To transfer files wirelessly between an iPhone and an Android device, both devices must be running the same third-party Bluetooth file transfer application.
Here's how:
- Open Photos.
- Locate and open the photo to be shared.
- Tap the Share icon.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon (Figure B)
- Tap to select the Bluetooth device to share the file to.
- When prompted on the desktop, tap Accept to permit the sharing.
Using the Send Anywhere app
- Run Send Anywhere on your iPhone.
- Tap the Send button.
- From the list of file types, select Photo.
- Tap the Send button at the bottom after selecting the photos.
- The app will generate a PIN and a QR code image for the receiver.
- On the Android phone, run the Send Anywhere app.
Steps to Transfer Photos from Android to iPhone
- Run Wi-Fi Transfer App on both Android phone and iPhone.
- Click Send button on the Android phone.
- Browse to an album with photos you want to send on Android phone.
- Select the photos you like to transfer and click Send button.
- Select receiving device, the iPhone in the case.
To AirDrop pictures and videos between iOS devices, fire up Photos for iOS. Find the images in your Camera Roll or in an album, and then tap the Select button at the upper-right. Tap the thumbnails you want to send, and Photos marks them with a checkmark. To deselect an item, tap the thumbnail again.
