All you have to do to access your mailbox is dial 1571. Note that features such as Call Waiting and Call Forward when Busy override the 1571 busy divert. It's good news if you have a BT Business phone line, as 1571 is free. The BT Answer message service is provided by default, but may need to be registered.
To cancel 1571, scroll down and click the "Remove all my messaging features" radio button. Alternatively, if you'd like to keep BT Call Protect, click that radio button instead. You can also manage all your calling features (including ordering, upgrading and cancelling them) at
- Dial your home telephone number from another phone.
- When you hear your voicemail greeting, press * and then enter your new PIN.
- This will bring you to the main menu where you can listen to your messages.
On an Android phone, a voicemail icon will appear at the top left of your screen in the Status area if you have an unread voicemail. Swipe your finger down from the top of the screen to view your notifications and then press New Voicemail. Your phone will dial the voice mailbox.
BT Answer 1571 is available at no extra cost when you sign up, for customers who make calls with BT. If you are billed monthly, then you must make at least two chargeable calls with BT each month or if you are billed quarterly, then you must make at least six chargeable calls with BT within that quarter.

It's free to use 1471 to find out the last number that called. If you press '3' to return the call there's a 35p charge plus the cost of the call.
Alternative method: disable call forwarding to turn off voicemail. Go to your device's main Settings menu, then to Device > Apps > Phone > More settings > Call forwarding > Voice call. Then, disable these three things: Forward When Busy, Forward When Unanswered and Forward When Unreached.
The only way to fully disable your voicemail is to call your mobile provider to request the feature be turned off. If you just won't be using your phone for a while, or are traveling somewhere that doesn't have good mobile coverage, you can forward your incoming calls to another phone number instead.
Your voicemail box can hold a total of 30 messages. New messages are kept for 14 to 30 days, depending on the type of voicemail. If you don't save them during that time, they are automatically deleted. Saved messages are kept for 30 days, and if you don't delete them during that time, they are automatically deleted.

If you have previously deactivated your voicemail service but want to restart it, do so by by contacting the Straight Talk customer service department. Contact the Straight Talk customer service department at 877-430-CELL (2355) from a land-line phone. Follow the prompts to speak with a representative.
If your phone model is an Android, follow the steps below:From the main screen, tap the "Phone" tab. Tap the "Voicemail" icon at the bottom of the screen. Your phone will automatically call your voicemail box. Once the call is connected, follow the voicemail prompts.

Android (via Cricket Visual Voicemail)
- Access the Cricket Visual Voicemail app.
- Tap Menu.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Password - Manage your Visual Voicemail Password.
- Enter the current password.
- Enter the new password.
- Re-enter the new password, then tap Save.
Your default voicemail password will either be your 7- or 10- digit phone number. If you have had voicemail under a previous phone number, try using your old password. Please Contact Us to have your password reset: If you are unable to remember your password.
Just like a password is required to receive email, your PIN must be entered each time you retrieve voicemail messages. Voicemail comes with a default PIN which is the last 6-digits of your account number. We recommend you change your default PIN even if you are not using voicemail.
To record a new greeting:
- Open the Google Voice app .
- At the top left, tap Menu. Settings.
- In the Voicemail section, tap Voicemail greeting.
- Tap Record a greeting.
- Tap Record .
- Record your greeting and when you're done, tap Stop .
