You can also update your headphones by going to btu.Bose.com and following the onscreen instructions. This method may be faster, however you will need a computer and a USB-C cable.To find out what firmware version you are running navigate to bose.com on a Mac or PC. Follow the prompts on the screen. It will tell you what version of the firmware you have and offer you the option to update. If you don't want to perform the update, just disconnect the QC35 from the computer.
Installing the update
- On your computer, open a web browser and go to btu.bose.com.
- Review the Bose Updater terms of use, then click "Accept and Continue" if you'd like to run the updater.
- Click "Download" to download the updater.
The latest software version for the SoundSport Free Wireless is 2.6. 0, the version 3.0. 4 that you mentioned is for the SoundSport Wireless, not the SoundSport Free! You can't check to see if there is an update inside the Bose Connect App other than opening the app and then being prompted by the app to update.
Unplug the SoundDock power cord from the power outlet. Wait 30 seconds. Reconnect the power cord. Retest the system.
Can you adjust the volume without the remote? There's no volume control on the sounddock itself, but you can adjust the volume of your phone/ipod and it will effect the volume level.

SoundDock 10 Audio
You can plug one end of a stereo cable into the music system's AUX IN and the other end into the TV if it has a similar connector, which could be labeled as a headphone jack.- There's no volume control on the sounddock itself, but you can adjust the volume of your phone/ipod and it will effect the volume level.

2 Answers. The Bose Soundock will not charge the 2nd gen iPod by design. There are difference in the dock connection. Unless you are willing to open the Sounddock and do some heavy rewiring, there is no way to work it.
Bluetooth® light
- bring your bluetooth® music device (phone, mp3 player) close to the sounddock 10 system.
- turn on the bluetooth® feature in your music device.
- in the list of found bluetooth® devices, find "bose sounddock 10" and select it.
- If prompted, enter the Bose® SoundDock 10 system passkey: 0000.
If you check the sticker on the bottom, above the serial number, it should say the name of your SoundDock system. If it does not mention the words "Series" or "Portable" then it is a Series I. Many Series I SoundDock serial numbers start with "0357" or "0402".
To reset the iPod touch, touch and hold the sleep/wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 15 seconds, ignoring the red Slide to Power Off slider, until the Apple logo appears. After you reset the iPod touch, everything should be back to normal, including your music and data files.
Manually updating with a USB cable
- Connect a USB cable from your computer to the Micro-USB jack on the back of your soundbar.
- Press and hold the Bluetooth and Skip back buttons for 5 seconds to enter service mode.

Surround sound systems generally come with at least two rear surround speakers, so for a surround sound system with a soundbar and two surround speakers and no subwoofer the number of speakers in the system would be shown as 3.0 or 3; if a subwoofer is provided the number of speakers would be shown as 3.1.
How long will the update take? The update may take as long as five minutes to complete.
A factory reset clears all source, volume, and network settings from the system and returns it to original factory settings. To restore factory settings, simultaneously press and hold the Volume - and AUX buttons for 10 seconds. To setup your system again, open the Bose Music app and follow the app instructions.
Connect Quiet Comfort 35 II to PC
- plug your headphone to PC by USB cable.
- make your headphone "ready to pair" by pushing power switch to Bluetooth icon and hold.
- from Bluetooth setting click "Add bluetooth or other device", confirm it paired.
- to connect it to PC and start the enjoyment go to "Devices and Printers" from Bluetooth setting.
