With a DVR, you can start watching a show at the beginning while it records simultaneously or give the recording a head start and then begin watching later so you can fast-forward through the commercials, even if the show isn't fully recorded yet.
Xfinity doesn't technically charge for its flagship X1 DVR system. Instead, it tacks on a $9.95 per month DVR service fee and a $10 per month HD technology fee. Of course, you could just go with the included TV box, which comes at no extra charge.

Cancel a Series Recording on Your X1 Guide
- Select Saved from the Main Menu.
- Choose Scheduled.
- Select a scheduled recording to cancel.
- Select Cancel to cancel the series recording.
- Choose All future recordings.

To cancel a scheduled recording:
- Press on the remote control, and select DVR from the menu.
- On the DVR menu at the bottom of the screen, select Scheduled. A list of the scheduled recordings appears, sorted by date.
- Select the recording you want to cancel, and press ok. If it is a single show:
Press the DVR button on your remote control and select Scheduled. Highlight an upcoming episode of the series and press OK. Select GET MORE INFO. Select VIEW SERIES INFO.
With the Xfinity Stream app and X1 Cloud DVR you can watch a completed DVR recording on your Apple or Android devices through any mobile or Wi-Fi network.
AT&T has upgraded their Mobile Remote Access for iPhone app with a new U-verse Mobile app, which now allows iPhone users to watch DVR recordings on their iPhone. The new app allows iPhone users to both manage their DVR and download DVR recordings from their iPhone.
In addition to managing your DVR box at home, Comcast provides a mobile application that allows you to control your DVR from an Android device. You can view your existing recordings, set a new recording timer or cancel a recording event using the XFINITY Mobile app.
The serial number and model number are generally found on a sticker on the top or bottom of the DVR / NVR. The serial number is located under the barcode and the model number will display as M/N:.

Xfinity remotes can be identified by the model number on the back panel or within the battery compartment of the remote. Note: Once your remote is successfully paired with a TV Box, it won't control any other TV Box until paired with the other TV Box.

- Turn on your TV.
- Press and hold Setup until the light at the top of the remote changes from red to green.
- Enter 9-9-1.
- Keep pressing CH ^ until the TV turns off.
- Once the TV turns off, press Setup to lock in the code.
- Press the TV power button on the remote.
If the buttons on your Voice Remote (model XR11) are still unresponsive, you may need to perform a factory reset. Press the Setup button until the LED at the top of the remote changes from red to green. Press 9-8-1. The LED will blink green twice to indicate that the remote was reset.
