By default, Telegram disables screenshots for “Secret Chats†and self-destructing photos on Android phones. Whenever you take a screenshot in a Secret Chat, the other user will get a Telegram secret chat screenshot notification, and you'll also see the warning on your end in the conversation thread.
After launching the 'disappearing messages' feature last year, WhatsApp is reportedly working on 'self-destructing photos' feature in a future update for iOS and Android. WaBetaInfo has shared the screenshots of the feature, which suggest that a photo will disappear once the receiver opens it and leaves the chat.
If you're using an Android smartphone, open the conversation that you want to enable the disappearing messages feature for, then tap the three-dot menu icon from the top toolbar. Here, select the “Disappearing Messages†feature. Select the time frame and tap the “Done†button.
Telegram has launched 'auto-delete messages' feature in its app, allowing users to chat without leaving a trace of their conversations behind. The messages will then disappear for all members in a private chat, group, or channel, after the set timeframe. The feature was previously only available for secret chats.
Secret chats are meant for people who want more secrecy than the average fella. All messages in secret chats use end-to-end encryption. The message will then disappear from both your and your friend's devices. All secret chats in Telegram are device-specific and are not part of the Telegram cloud.
The second way is to recover deleted Telegram chats from the cache folder in which stored all the messages, images, videos and other files in the deleted conversations. To do this, in the external SD card in your phone, go for "Android" folder > "data" folder > "org.telegram" folder > "cache" folder.
While you have started a secret chat in Telegram with someone by mistake and you wish to end the same, you can simply do it by deleting the chat. As you delete the chat, a message saying 'Secret Chat Canceled' will appear on your and the other person's screen with whom you have ended the conversation.

To send an Expiring photo:
- Select the photo or photos you want to send by tapping on it.
- Tap on the countdown button represented by a chronometer or watch.
- Tap Send Expiring.
Tap the camera icon on the left of the compose box and capture the photo or video you want to send. Down at the bottom of the screen, you'll then see various options for what you're sending: View once, Allow replay (which is really view twice), and Keep in chat.

Therefore, users first need to go through the deactivation process.
- Step 1: Open Telegram on your mobile and click on the option 'Settings'.
- Step 2: Select the option 'Privacy and Security'.
- Step 3: Next, scroll down to the 'If Away for section' to automatically delete your account.
Current versions of the Telegram apps do not make the secret chat feature easy to find. To create a secret chat, you need to open the profile of your chat partner, tap or click the three-dot button (sometimes called More, sometimes not), and select Start Secret Chat.
Auto-deleting messages were already possible in Telegram's encrypted Secret Chats, but this new update for iOS and Android adds the option to make messages disappear in any kind of chat. Auto-delete can be enabled inside of chats, and set to delete either 24 hours or seven days after messages are sent.
The Bio feature works similarly on the lines of WhatsApp Old Status where users will be able to set their personal status. The option is currently available in the Settings page where users can set their personal status which will be view able by your contacts by opening your profile page.

In fact, with Apple's newest operating system, iOS 8, iMessage users can send and receive audio or video messages that expire after two minutes. The recipient could still have the messages you sent and any photos that accompanied them on his or her phone!
On iOS, tap the icon in the top-right corner in Messages then choose New Secret Chat. Next, choose the recipient and set the self-destruct timer by tapping the clock icon and then choosing the desired time limit. Now, when you send a message or file, it'll disappear according to this timer.
iMessage doesn't inform you if someone takes a screenshot of the chat or records the screen. There is a certain app – Snapchat – that notifies you when someone takes a screenshot of your chat or snaps. You can even delete the messages in a chat after sending them.
Type out your message or choose the photo you want to send. Then 3D Touch, push it real good, the send arrow to pull up the new bubble effect options. From there, you can choose the invisible ink feature. Press that, and it'll apply the inconspicuous effect to your message.
Go
to Photos > Albums, and tap Recently Deleted in the Utilities section. If you see the missing photo or video, you can move it back into your Recents album.
Check your Recently Deleted folder
- Tap Select.
- Tap the photos or videos, then tap Recover.
- Confirm that you want to recover the photos or videos.
How to Set Self-Destruct
- Select a file to share.
- Set Access, Permissions, and Watermark settings.
- In Expiry, select Self-destruct file after it is opened.
- Set timer between 1 minute and 60 hours.
Open Instagram in a web browser: If you log onto Instagram in a web browser on your computer, and go to your direct messages, you can take a screenshot of a disappearing photo or video without the person knowing. Instagram does not notify screenshots taken in a web browser.
Google announced a new Gmail feature called Confidential Mode earlier this year that lets you send self-destructing emails. The feature is now available to everyone.
If there's any backup available for the SMS or MMS messages you disappeared, you'll first need to reset your phone to factory condition or find a new smartphone to restore the deleted texts on Android from the Google backups. Then, during your device setup process: Sign in to your Google Account in your phone.
Instagram allows you to communicate publicly and privately with followers, mutuals, and other Instagram users. That includes sending private messages to anyone. You don't need to follow or be followed by that user to use the app's private messaging feature, and no one can see these messages except the recipients.
Cover Me, which is known as “Private Text Messaging & Calls†on the Play Store is another cool self-destructing messaging app. The app lets you to embed a 'self-destruct' in messages to make them disappear once they are read.
To send a disappearing photo or video, open an existing chat with a contact or begin a new conversation. To attach an image to a message you can either tap the camera icon and take a new photo or video, or tap the paperclip icon and select one from your Gallery.
To replay a disappearing photo or video you've received, tap Photo or Video. Keep in mind that you can only replay a disappearing photo or video right after you've received it, and that the person who sent it will be able to tell that you've replayed it or taken a screenshot.
When you use invisible ink, the message remains blurred until the recipient swipes to reveal it. Tap to send the message or. to cancel.
