If you forget to tap out on rail or SeaBus, yourcard will be charged the maximum fare. Buses are a one-zonefare and require tap in only. But you still need to tapout on rail and SeaBus. To request a refund, please callCompass Customer Service at 604.398.2042.

Paying Your Fare. To travel on SkyTrain,SeaBus or West Coast Express, you need a Compass Card orCompass Ticket to open fare gates or to tap on astation validator. You can keep using cash,bus transfers and FareSavers on buses, butyou'll need Compass to transfer to rail orSeaBus. Watch out for card clash.
Public Transport
Vancouver's public transportation is bothefficient and convenient. The Translink system includesbuses, the SeaBus ferry and the SkyTrain (light rail), allof which are ecologically friendly, reliable and inexpensive.Regular service runs from about 5 a.m. to around 1 a.m. everyday.Adult (blue) and Concession* (orange) CompassCards are reloadable, so you can use one card for allyour travel needs. When you get a Compass Card, you'll pay a$6 refundable deposit. When your balance is low, or you need totravel extra zones, you have the security of making that onetrip.
If you have a Compass Card or Compass Ticket, youcan transfer across bus, SkyTrain and SeaBuson a single fare for up to 90 minutes (120 minutes with aWest Coast Express fare), as long as your fareincludes the number of zones you intend to travel onSkyTrain and SeaBus.
The Compass Card app is available foriPhones or Android smartphones. All you have to do is search'compass card' in the App Store or in GooglePlay.
