The ball size varies slightly between 5-a-side soccer and futsal. 5-a-side makes use of a size 5 ball with a regular bounce. Futsal uses a smaller size 4 ball with a higher bounce. Regular soccer uses a size 5 ball as well, so 5-a-side is more accurately a miniaturised version of the full game.
Five-a-side football is a variation of association football, in which each team fields five players (four outfield players and a goalkeeper). Other differences from football include a smaller pitch, smaller goals, and a reduced game duration.
There is no offside rule in 5 a side football. Sliding tackles are not allowed. Players have to remain at 2 metres distance from the player with possession of the ball, in 5 a side football, when taking penalties, free kicks, corners etc. When taking a penalty, the player is not allowed to take more than two steps.
In some 5-a-side leagues wearing shin pads is a requirement. If you're playing on artificial turf you're best off always wearing them to prevent injury (especially if there are reckless stud-wearing maniacs around, which there nearly always are).
Each match will be 17.5 minutes each way with a 2 minute half time during which teams must change ends.
For other people the reason behind it is a lot simpler: the football team managers wanted their sport to be as popular as or more popular than the most famous at that time, cricket, so they copied the number of players. This meant that the home team wore the numbers 1 to 11 and the away team wore numbers 12 to 22.
A goal can be scored directly from any kick off. There are NO OFFSIDES. There are NO HEAD HEIGHT restrictions.
The average person burns 575-775 calories per hour playing football. In a game of catch, they will burn 175-250 calories per hour. The number of calories burned depends on your weight and the intensity of the activity.

Construction and costThe average cost of a 5-a-side 3G pitch is around £50 per square metre, meaning a total cost of £25,000 for the 500 square metres we recommended earlier. If you've decided to splash out for a 4G pitch, that cost would rise to £35,000. Standard 5-a-side goals are 12 x 4ft.
Both the 7 a side and 5 a side games for age ranges under & 10 and under 8 & 7 respectively, recommend the use of a 12ft x 6ft (3.66m x 1.83m) football goal post.
Standard pitch measurements. Not all pitches are the same size, though the preferred size for many professional teams' stadiums is 105 by 68 metres (115 yd × 74 yd) with an area of 7,140 square metres (76,900 sq ft; 1.76 acres; 0.714 ha).
1.1 The field of play shall be rectangular, and its dimensions shall be as follows: Length - 130m minimum and 145m maximum. Width - 80m minimum and 90m maximum. The dimensions may be reduced by local Bye-Laws for Under 15 or younger grades.
A football pitch could have a perimeter anywhere between 270m (for a 90m x 45m pitch) and 420m (120m x 90m). The “standard” pitch size is 105m x 68m, which gives a perimeter of 346m.
Ultimately, Premier League pitches are all roughly the same size. However, the Laws of the Game state pitches can be between 90 and 120 metres long, and drastically different in width – between 50 and 100 metres, although they must be longer than they are wide.
The area bounded by these lines and the goal line is the penalty area. Within each penalty area, a penalty mark is made 11m from the midpoint between the goalposts and equidistant to them. An arc of a circle with a radius of 9.15m from the centre of each penalty mark is drawn outside the penalty area.
A regulation football is 28–30 cm (11–12 in) long and 58–62 cm (23–24 in) in circumference at its widest point. It weighs 410–460 g (14–16 oz) and is inflated to 65.7–68.8 kPa (9.5–10.0 psi).
The number of officials is different for different leagues. College football and the NFL use seven different officials to monitor the game. In high school football there are generally five officials, while youth leagues and middle school will typically use three officials at a game.
A main difference between soccer and futsal is the size of the goal, and FORZA are proud to provide the best range of official regulation sized futsal soccer goals on the market. 10ft x 6.5ft is the regulation size for futsal goals, as well as being suitable for use as a small-sized 5-a-side goal.
The company is still calculating the costs of that, but a standard goal post that meets NCAA requirements is about $5,700.
