When we consume the parasite-laden cabbage or cauliflower, tapeworm reaches our brain. In the worst cases, they can be life-threatening. The cabbage used in Chinese foods is even more dangerous. Chinese foods are not cooked at high temperatures, which makes these foods further unhealthy for us.

Termites. Termites generally consist of up to 38 percent protein, and one particular Venezuelan species, Syntermes aculeosus, is 64 percent protein. Termites are also rich in iron, calcium, essential fatty acids and amino acids such as tryptophan.
Caterpillars are high in protein and rather defenseless—making them an easy dinner staple for other animals—and many have evolved various means of protection. Their markings and body parts can make them seem larger in size and some of them are poisonous, both to consume and to the touch.

On the whole, insects tend to taste a bit nutty, especially when roasted. My two favorites, wax moth caterpillars (AKA “wax worms”) and bee larvae, taste like enoki-pine nut and bacon-chanterelle, respectively.
Dried bugs consist of 35% protein, 51% fat, with an energy content of 2600 kJ/100 g. Amino-acid concentrations varied from 0.82 mg/100 g (for threonine) to 1.32 mg/100 g (valine). Mineral content was 1.2 g/100 g. The stink-bugs are therefore a source of proteins, fats, amino acids, minerals and vitamins.
Sushi is often regarded as a weight-loss-friendly meal. Yet, many types of sushi are made with high-fat sauces and fried tempura batter, which significantly increases their calorie content. Additionally, a single piece of sushi generally contains very small amounts of fish or vegetables.
To lose 1 pound (0.45 kg) per week, moderately active young men should consume 2,300–2,500 calories daily. Energy needs decrease as men age. Between the ages of 46–65, moderately active men need an average of 2,400 calories per day.
Sushi is a very healthy meal! It's a good source of heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids thanks to the fish it's made with. Sushi is also low in calories – there's no added fat. The most common type is nigiri sushi – fingers of sticky rice topped with a small filet of fish or seafood.

If you're watching what you eat, go for lower calorie options, such as sashimi (raw fish) and nigiri (raw fish on a small bed of rice). Other good choices include sushi rolls made with fresh or pickled vegetables. You can also ask that your sushi be made with a smaller portion of rice.
One of the biggest problems with sushi is portion control. While it may look compact, sushi can have a lot of calories: a single sushi roll cut into six to nine pieces can contain as many as 500 calories, says Isabel Maples, a registered dietitian and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
An ideal daily intake of calories varies depending on age, metabolism and levels of physical activity, among other things. Generally, the recommended daily calorie intake is 2,000 calories a day for women and 2,500 for men.
Still, worms — or wormlike creatures — will always have their fans. The chubby, striped mopane worm — eaten in northern and central Zambia as well as parts of Zimbabwe — is considered a delicacy.

But deep-fried, many consider them an excellent snack. In Cambodia, fried tarantulas are a delicacy. Often rolled in sugar or garlic, the spiders are eaten by the handful out of street vendors' carts by local residents and adventurous tourists alike.

Termites are eaten around the world, including in Africa, Asia, and South America. Usually, these insects are eaten to increase protein and fat consumption in rural areas or areas that experience higher rates of malnutrition. This is because they are high in amino acids and can be found somewhat easily.
Termites eat wood to derive the cellulose and nutrients they need to live. Termites have protozoa and bacteria in their gut that allow them to break down the cellulose fibers in wood, which is difficult for other creatures to digest.
Eating AntsMost ant species are edible, their flavor is pleasantly sour. This is because ants secrete an acid when threatened, giving them a vinegar-like flavor. In Colombia ants are roasted with salt (crunchy salt-and-vinegar ants!) and eaten at feasts.
