Some students have to work as well as attend class. They might struggle to take more than 6 credit hours at a time. So, it is neither bad nor shameful to take 5 or 6 years to graduate. Even at the community college level, it often takes 3 or 4 years instead of 2 to earn an associates degree.
Increase in College Tuition
FundingU, a student loan lending company, surveyed their customers and found that more than half were forced to drop out of college due to lack of funding. Approximately 79% of the surveyed students claimed they would have to delay their graduation due to financial constraints.Colleges and universities usually require 120 credits for a bachelor's degree but students graduate with about 135, on average, according to data compiled by Complete College America, a nonprofit research and advocacy group. Some states' figures are even higher. Even within a system, credits may not be accepted.
