Very few theatres operate a dress policy, and though traditionally evening performances are more formal than matinees, nobody will lambast you for wearing denim after 7pm.
As a rule rows 6-8 in the stalls tend to offer the best views. The dress circle – Also sometimes called the Royal Circle, first balcony or mezzanine, the dress circle is the next tier of seating above the stalls.
Mezzanine seating can offer a more panoramic view and, if you're in the first row or two, you'll often be closer to the stage than you would have been in the orchestra. Always check to see if the theater has both a mezzanine and a balcony. If so, the balcony will be higher and farther away.

Seats in the front and centre of the Orchestra and Balcony offer the best views in the Royal Alexandra Theatre, complete with a premium price tag. Rows A-E in both sections allow you to see the entire stage in detail, whilst rows AA-DD of the Orchestra offer the most immersive experience.

TORONTO -- Mirvish Productions is filling out its 2019-2020 season with a crowd-pleasing slate of familiar hits and jukebox musicals. The Toronto theatre company says it will mount new productions of "Miss Saigon" in May and "Les Miserables" next June.
- Stalls. Many would argue that the best place to sit at the theatre is the Stalls.
- Circles. Circles, sometimes referred to as the Mezzanine are similar to the Stalls in that pretty much everywhere you sit will give you a great view, that is almost always unobstructed.
- Upper or Grand Circle.
The best seats are at least 4 or 5 rows back in the center up to about the 12th row. Most seats in the front mezzanine (up to 6 or so rows back) are also quite good. I sat near the back of the Orchestra to see Hair (about 3 rows from the back of the theater) and thought my seats were just fine.
All seats provide a good view of the stage. Downstairs in the stalls you are closer to the action and feel more a part of it. Up in the balcony you get a better view of the staging, looking down on the action. The stalls are best during the summer it can get very hot in the balcony.

There are definitely pros and cons for all of the seating areas at the Mayflower Theatre. I would say that the best seats are mid way back in the centre area of the stalls, because you're far away enough from the stage to take in all the action, but you can also see the close up facial expressions of the performers.
Overall, I'd say yes, balcony seats are worth it. Again in general, the first four or five rows of the balcony are usually as good or better than rear orchestra seats. In some situations, like dance-heavy shows, almost all of the mezzanine is better than the front of the orchestra.
Restricted View SeatsOften, the view isn't as bad as it sounds like on paper, and so buying these seats are very much worth it. You may also get moved to a better seat if the auditorium isn't full!

'Book of Mormon' performances take place from Monday - Saturday from 7.30pm, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm. Occasional Friday matinees take place, too (also at 2.30pm). 'Book of Mormon' running time is 2 hours and 20 minutes, which includes a 15-minute interval.
