The Raptor family of Hunter pets are an offensive pet, meaning they deal high DPS but have lower armor or health. To keep your pet well-fed and happy, in order to maximize its damage, you must feed your Raptor pet Meat. For more information on Hunter pets, check out Wowhead's Classic Hunter Pet Guide or Petopia.
Lupos. Lupos is a rare wolf found in Duskwood, and in Vanilla WoW was the best pet for damage done because his auto attacks dealt Shadow damage instead of Physical damage.

Hunter Pets in BfA. They're mainly PvP pets because they're forced to be Cunning. And even in PvP they're not the best, no, Silithid take that spot (in comparison) due to their Exotic Ability “Dune Strider” that give them 30% more movement speed.
Manasabers in suramar are spirit beasts, those are pretty easy to attain. The mana saber in suramar is the easiest. Spawn time is like 10 minutes. The porcupines in mop are also short spawn time but you have to get their health down to like a third before you can tame them.
I notice that exotic pet specialized spells tend to do more damage than regular pets and they mostly have a 10 second cool down, with the exception of a few of them.
Chimaera. The Chimaera receives my highest recommendation as a top all-around pet for Beast Mastery PvP. For one, it has what I'd consider to be thee best pet special of any pet. Chimaeras possess an ability called Froststorm Breath, which not only deals ranged damage, but also slows its target by 50% for 5 seconds.
Gets healed by Exhilaration. Appearance can be changed by swapping the pet in your first stable slot. This means in order to have 2 of the same pet, you will actually need to tame 2 copies of it.
You can get any non-exotic pets (those are for Beast mastery only). However, to optimize your Mongoose Bite generation, I'd suggest either a Scorpid, Carrion Bird, or Riverbeast (aka Hippo) since they have a 6-second mortal strike ability that can proc your mastery in addition to their normal abilities.
Starter Pet Chart. New hunter characters always start the game with a pet. Note that starter pets are only available to new hunters, though the same looks are often available on other creatures for all hunters. See the FAQ for more info.
