Flash is not without its limitations, such as smaller storage capacity, but Flash drives consume up to 50% less power than similar capacity HDDs, and are capable of much faster read/write speeds. Average HDDs cap out at 120 MB/s, while many Flash drives are capable of read/write speeds in excess of 500 MB/s.
SSD stands for Solid State Disk, and it means storage that doesn't require moving parts. USB thumb drives have used Flash storage for a long time as well, but the quality of the Flash storage in those is typically much lower than the Flash memory used in SSDs. This means much worse performance, etc.

For anyone looking for the bare computing essentials, 4GB of laptop RAM should be sufficient. If you want your PC to be able to flawlessly accomplish more demanding tasks at once, such as gaming, graphic design, and programming, you should have at least 8GB of laptop RAM.
A minimum of 2GB is required for basic computing, but 8GB or more is recommended if you're into graphics and advanced photo or video editing. For mainstream computer, a hard drive of 500GB - 1TB is enough to meet the needs of most people. No matter you are a student or an office worker, a hard drive of 500GB or 1TB capacity is enough for general use, like listening to music, watching movies, doing office work, playing games, and editing photos.
Of course, SSDs mean that most people have to make do with much less storage space. A 1TB hard drive stores eight times as much as a 128GB SSD, and four times as much as a 256GB SSD. The bigger question is how much you really need.
Most non-professional users will be fine with 250 to 320GBs of storage. For example, 250GB can hold more than 30,000 average size photos or songs. 500/512GB: Install the OS, programs, some games. Not ideal if you have a lot of media, especially in high resolution. Another drive for additional storage is necessary if you have a lot of heavy files and/or games. 2TB: A good option if your SSD is your only drive and have many programs, games and or heavy files.
If you always stream content and don't plan on downloading anything, you should be fine with 64GB on the iPhone 12 series. But if you have some video and audio files downloaded, then you better go with the 128GB variant.
The reality is that 256GB of internal storage is probably going to be plenty enough for most people who don't already have (or anticipate having) a ton of locally stored photos, video, video games, or music that can't either be easily offloaded into the cloud, or to a backup drive.
If you use your phone for sending messages and emails, browsing the internet and taking the occasional photo then 32GB should be plenty. But if you like taking a lot of photos and videos then you should consider 64GB, but even then you may need to move some files to your computer or portable hard drive.

If you solely plan to just stream all of your content, then 128GB is plenty. If you are going to download some music or video to enjoy offline, then 256GB should be enough.
In the rare case you can't live without 1TB space, 512GB SSD is far better. CPU & RAM are pretty fast but HDD can't keep up with them, so SSD is the optimum pair. 512GB is a good amount of space unlike 256GB. Check if the laptop has a M.

A device 64GB of internal flash memory will have around 59GB of usable space. Of that amount, 7–10GB will be reserved for the OS and system partition leaving you with ~50GB of usable space. Assuming that a typical Android app is 200–250 MB, the total amount of installable apps will be around 200.

I would say 2 to 3 gb per movie. So I can save maybe 10 movies on a 32 GB thumb drive. There are other programs that will take less space and may allow you to save more movies onto that 34 GB drive.
Storage and ExpandabilityUnless you don't use your tablet much, you may find 8 or 16 GB to be a little too constraining for your needs, so you'll probably want to pay a little more and get at least 32GB of storage space — or look for one with an onboard SD card slot.
