It's one type of system software, which is the software that the system uses β the user doesn't interact with it directly. An application (the short form of application program) is software that performs a specific function directly for the user or, in some cases, for another application program.
Examples of application software are Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, VLC media player, Firefox or Google Chrome, accounting applications, photo editor, mobile apps such as video games, Whatsapp, etc.
Software is the programs and routines for a computer or the program material for an electronic device which make it run. An example of software is Excel or Windows or iTunes. Word processing programs and Internet browsers are examples of software.
The terms software and application are often used interchangeably by people with a limited comprehension of computer technology. Technically, applications are a form of software, but not all software is an application.
βTo develop the software, you need the hardware. To develop the hardware, you need the software.β
There are five main hardware components in a computer system: Input, Processing, Storage, Output and Communication devices.
Hardware is useless without software because the machinery will not and cannot do anything without programming to tell it what to do. Without an operating system, the computer can't do anything. Without other software, like Microsoft Office, you can't type anything or listen to music or watch video or anything.
Computer hardware is any physical device used in or with your machine, whereas software is a collection of codes installed onto your computer's hard drive. For instance, the computer monitor you're currently using to read this text and the mouse you're using to navigate this web page is computer hardware.
Hardware RequirementsWe strongly recommend a computer fewer than 5 years old. Processor: Minimum 1 GHz; Recommended 2GHz or more. Ethernet connection (LAN) OR a wireless adapter (Wi-Fi) Hard Drive: Minimum 32 GB; Recommended 64 GB or more. Memory (RAM): Minimum 1 GB; Recommended 4 GB or above.
Difference Between Hardware and Software:
| Hardware | Software |
|---|
| Hardware is a physical parts computer that cause processing of data. | Software is a set of instruction that tells a computer exactly what to do. |
| It is manufactured. | It is developed and engineered. |
While a computer can't run without hardware, it can run without software, but where's the fun in that? For instance, software needs hardware in order to operate how it is programmed to.
Hardware refers to the
physical and visible components of the system such as a monitor, CPU, keyboard and mouse.
Difference Between Hardware and Software.
| Hardware | Software |
|---|
| Hardware is physical in nature and hence one can touch and see hardware | The software cannot be physically touched but still can be used and seen |
all ciphers are faster in hardware than in software, but we say "fast in software" if an algorithm is not much slower in software than in hardware. Some operations can be done fast in software, some other are hard to emulate for the typical x86 (or x86-64) processor.
