In Chapel Allerton, there were 77 incidents of crime in November 2015, compared to 85 in Chapeltown. As part of the wider area, Inner North East is one of the safest parts of Leeds. The main police hub for North East Leeds, it's the place to go in case you see or experience a crime.With its growing population of around 50,000, Morley is a big town within a big city. I've walked through Seacroft countless times - there's no denying it's a rough area but it's far from the worst in Leeds. Harehills, Halton Moor, Gipton and Armley are much worse imo. Still wouldn't want to live there though.

The area is a bit scruffy but not rough and rent is fairly reasonable. Dax's points are good. Traffic in Leeds can be horrendous so keep that in mind. I used to commute from Pudsey to Seacroft every day and it would be a good 45-55 minute drive to go 13 miles!

methley, fairburn, allerton bywater, ledsham are all pretty nice. Loads of decent villages along or east of the A1 across to the A19. Prices lower as you approach Doncaster and rise as you get Leeds or York commuting. Leeds is ok if you want city living, Selby is a nice little town.
