Because the series takes place between Episode VI and Episode VII, we were meeting a younger version of Luke than we last saw him in the sequel trilogy. And that meant digital de-aging effects had to be used on Hamill to make him appear like his younger self.
Development. In July 2019, The Mandalorian creator and showrunner Jon Favreau confirmed that there would be a second season of the series. He had already begun writing the new season, and pre-production was underway. It consists of eight episodes.
No, there will not be an episode 9 in The Mandalorian season 2.
For practical purposes - such as washing, eating, and (apparently) maintaining a well-groomed mustache - Mando is allowed to remove his helmet when he's alone. This was seen in The Mandalorian season 1 episode "Sanctuary," when Din took off his helmet to eat a meal that had been given to him by Omera.
The official length of the episode is 46:12.
Luke Skywalker returned.Secrecy around this mission was so hardcore that director Peyton Reed referred to the character as Plo-Koon (a Jedi from the prequel era) even during filming.
The Mandalorian's season 2 finale ends with an unexpected post-credits scene in which Boba Fett and Fennec Shand return to Tatooine. They head to the palace of Jabba the Hutt, whose throne has apparently been occupied by his former majordomo Bib Fortuna, and they kill Fortuna to claim that throne for themselves.
Mark Hamill may have returned to the role of Luke Skywalker for The Mandalorian's season two finale – but his voice did not. Season two of Disney Plus's Star Wars spin-off series ended with a dramatic cameo from Hamill, with de-aging technology used to make the actor appear time period-appropriate.
Episode no. "Chapter 16: The Rescue" is the eighth and final episode of the second season of the American streaming television series The Mandalorian. It was written by showrunner Jon Favreau and directed by Peyton Reed.
The Mandalorian season 2, episode 3 introduces yet another faction into canon, which means there are currently three groups of Mandalorians.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian culminated with the surprise cameo of Luke Skywalker (CGI de-aged version of Luke Skywalker). Many cast and crew members were shocked, but none so much so as Jon Favreau himself.
By defeating Moff Gideon in one-on-one combat, Din has now come into possession of the Darksaber. And with that blade, he's technically the rightful ruler of Mandalore. Bo-Katan took the easy way once, and the end result was Mandalore falling back into Imperial hands.
In Season 2, Ep 7, the Mandalorian has to take his imperial trooper helmet off in order to have his face scanned by an imperial data terminal. He is successful in doing it. How did this happen? His face should not be recognised by any imperial data server.

The Mandalorian Chapter 15 might have set up the latest Star Wars spinoff and it definitely set up a grand finale with some Star Wars-loaded spectacle.
Once a glorious world, the surface of Mandalore was laid waste by war, leading Duchess Satine Kryze to renounce the planet's violent history and declare neutrality in the Clone Wars. With Bo-Katan and several clans, she destroyed the Empire's Mandalorian armor-targeting weapon.
Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) seemingly left his jetpack on Tython in The Mandalorian season 2, episode 6. Eventually, both decided to put their gear down, with Boba Fett specifically asking Din to remove his jetpack. Mando did so, but even after they reached a truce, he never put it back on.
It appears Mando stringently follows The Way of his clan, The Watch, but, like most religions and followings, the rules aren't black and white. That flexibility and bending of The Way is best shown in The Mandalorian season 1 finale. There, Din removes his helmet to let droid IG-11 heal his wounds with Bacta Spray.
Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster, beloved weapon of Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, perished unexpectedly December 4, 2020 while visiting the planet of Tython. Pulse Rifle, as it was known, was 42 years old. It was a spiritual weapon, being part of the Mandalorian religion.
After Din Djarin broke the Bounty Guild Code to retrieve Grogu, The Client's operatives came to take their asset back for more experimenting, which resulted in a firefight that pinned him and his ward down. A group of Mandalorians appeared to provide cover, allowing him just enough time to escape with Grogu Off World.

The show was renewed before The Mandalorian season 2 even released, but The Mandalorian's future was confirmed again by creator Jon Favreau in December 2020. Release date: The Mandalorian season 3 is reportedly on Lucasfilm's slate for 2022.
The short answer is that “Yoda†is the name of a character, not a species, and the character we see on The Mandalorian is different from the Yoda we know and love from the Star Wars movies. Baby Yoda is not a younger Yoda the way Anakin Skywalker is a younger Darth Vader.
