GTA 6 Release Date and Platforms
With Red Dead Redemption 2 released in October 2018, we can be sure that Rockstar will be focused on pushing out some DLC content for the game now. With that in mind, the most optimistic release date for GTA 6 would be late 2020.At least between each other. So as it stands, each of the five versions of GTA Online are separate from the other four. The closest you can get to cross-platform is by buying the game on a current-gen system, and transferring online character progress from previous generation version.

Rockstar hasn't revealed what those numbers are though, and the only official figures anyone has to go off is that the parent game has now sold over 110 million copies and that back in 2014 there were 33 million active players on GTA Online.
Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, and PC all are 5 separate groups. PC players can not play GTA Online together with Xbox One players or any other combination. However, you can all link your account to the Rockstar Social Club.

Just do not try to select "Join your friend/join your crew members online," as this is when you are told "Failed to join/Failed to find compatible session," and you are immediately put to either another lobby or back to story mode. Go to the Social Club website: and log in.
- Click on the Crews tab at the top of the screen.
- Click Create a Crew, found below the image at the top of the page.
- Choose your Crew type and enter the Crew details. Then click SAVE THIS CREW.
- Your Crew has been created.
You will have to play additional Story Missions to play as Michael or Trevor. There are many side-activities which are unavailable if you don't progress the story. For GTA Online, you must complete the introduction Story Mission, and an online Tutorial Mission sequence with Lamar as well.
If you want to play Online solo, load the story mode, and simply select GTA Online from the menu as “invite only.” Playing solo does limit your character's development somewhat; the best way to play is to hook up with other players as soon as possible and spawn whatever instanced activity you're interested in.
