No dear the only Admission gateway at iist is jee advance.
Admission will be based on your JEE MAINS rank. But to qualify for applying to IIST, you need to score some minimum marks in JEE Advanced. For general category, candidate needs to score minimum 6 marks in each subject and a minimum aggregate of 72 out of 360 in JEE ADVANCED to be eligible to apply for B.
Admission to the limited undergraduate seats in IIST is tough – one requires a real good rank in JEE (Main) and a minimum specified score in JEE (Advanced), which explain why few of them call IIST the institute where nobody gets in.
IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) is an autonomous institutions which offers education in the field of space sciences, space technology and space applications. IIST did not organize any entrance test to offer admission in UG, PG and other courses.
All branch in IIST are the best and provide good opportunity. As compare to Aerospace Engineering, Electronics and communication Engineering has more job (I am talking about apart from ISRO job perspective.
IIST is a very specialized insitute and just like its parent body ISRO, it is not very popular because it does not advertise itself on TOI (and other dailies) like a VIT or a Lovely Professional Institute.
IIST offers the following courses:
- 4-Year B.Tech. ( Aerospace Engineering )
- 4-Year B.Tech. ( Avionics )
- 5-Year Dual Degree (B. Tech. + M.S./M. Tech.) The 5-year Dual Degree programme leads to B. Tech. degree in Engineering Physics and any of the following Post-Graduate degree specializations: (i) M.S.
IIST 2020 Rank list. The rank list of IIST will be declared in the month of June at the center. The rank list will be in category-wise. Those candidates have scored the minimum qualifying marks from the JEE Main Advanced; only they will be shortlisted in the rank list.
Subjects taught at graduate and postgraduate levels. Operations Management. Operations Research. Industrial Engineering and Management. Industrial quality control.
There are many modes to jojn
ISRO.
After 12th you can get
admission into IIST (Indian institute of space science and technology) through JEE exam. The institute offers
admission in B.
TO GO TO ISRO YOU HAVE FOLLOWING GATEWAYS:
- KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana)
- JEE: SCORE UPTO 10K RANK GM.
To become a scientist at ISRO, you are required to have Math and Physics as subjects at 10+2 level. Then getting admission in IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) can be the easiest ticket to get absorbed in ISRO as a scientist/engineer. If you do BSc, you can join as scientific assistant.
Is it possible to get into the IIST through the JEE Mains 17? You have to qualify in JEE main and must obtain 20% (Gen) or 18%(Obc) or 10%(SC/ST) in JEE adv. Moreover in 12 th exam 70% for Gen % or 60% for Reserved cat candidates.
NO,ISRO and DRDO does not come for placements now in IISc that is sure previously they use to come. Not even in IITs they go for placements but I am not sure you should check with someone in IITs. This is the way they recruit students.
IIST offers M. Tech. programmes under (i) Regular Academic stream for admission of general candidates, and under (ii) DoS / ISRO stream, for admission of young scientists and engineers, in the following select areas relevant to ISRO programmes. Programmes in M.
Here, candidates can get the procedure to apply in IIST 2019:

You should go for engineering to become a scientist in ISRO. Try to crack NITs and IITs and you can take degree in B. Tech in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Radio Engineering, and Engineering Physics. To get selected in ISRO make sure you get good grades in your academics.
Like the cogs of a giant wheel, scientists at ISRO perform various roles. According to Indeed, a global jobs website, those working in the field of space research can earn average annual salaries ranging from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 6.12 lakh.
After completing Aeronautical Engineering you do not require any further qualifications to work for Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Aeronautical Engineering deals in designing, maintaining and manufacturing of the aircraft. There is plenty of scope for you in ISRO.
Over 100,000 aspirants applied for these seats in ISAT 2012 making IIST one of the most selective institutes in India.
Yes of course Mtech is beneficial in getting job at ISRO, just because ISRO goes only to MTECH colleges for recruiting students. You have a great opportunity to get into ISRO when you do MTECH but you need to work hard to get that seat.
First you have to get a degree of B. tech aeronautical from any recognised university. In your final year of engineering you can apply online at official website of isro. Every year they recruit around 50 entry level scientists under Mechanical stream.
To become a space scientist, one should possess relevant education in pure science or engineering disciplines. ISRO recruit candidates with PhD in Astronomy, Physics and Mathematics along with engineers in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer science.
One way to become a rocket scientist in India is to study to be an aerospace engineer, and take subjects that focus on rocket design - e.g. aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, navigation/guidance/control.
