Through the end of 2019, Amazon reportedly took responsibility for about 50% of its deliveries through its own means. FedEx reported about 3 billion deliveries in 2019 and UPS had 4.7 billion. As the company increases its own delivery services, it has more latitude to adjust its relationships with other partners.
Contract Amazon to run the USPS for 10 years with an option for Amazon to acquire the postal service.
Just an FYI - At our stand-up this morning, it was announced that USPS has lost the Amazon contract (or, more rightly, it will not be renewed). So far, we will still have ongoing Sunday Amazon processing and deliveries, as "nothing has changed", and "we are still delivering all Amazon"
Amazon.com Inc. is blocking its third-party sellers from using FedEx Corp.'s ground delivery network for Prime shipments, citing a decline in performance heading into the final stretch of the holiday shopping season.
At the current rate, Amazon is set to pass both FedEx and UPS in US package volume, with the company currently delivering 2.5 billion packages per year compared to FedEx's 3 billion and UPS's 4.7 billion, Morgan Stanley says.
Still, something must give. The search for new leadership comes as the Postal Service marks its 13th straight year of losses (the USPS had a net loss of $8.8 billion in fiscal year 2019 despite a $514 million increase in operating revenue) and is on track to run out of cash by 2024.
Yes, Amazon's activities are currently continuing. However, delivery times may be longer than usual and our selection of items available for international shipping may be temporarily reduced. You can find updated delivery times on the product detail page for each item, and in checkout.

The service is free, since it doesn't actually need to go through the mail. The pickup locations work a lot like the Amazon Locker system, which offers a place in convenience and grocery stores for customers to pick up packages.
The USPS is often mistaken for a government-owned corporation (e.g., Amtrak) because it operates much like a business. It is, however, an "establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States", (39 U.S.C. § 201) as it is controlled by presidential appointees and the postmaster general.
If your package was stolen and there's evidence, take photos and submit those too. If your USPS lost package was insured, you should be able to get a refund directly from USPS. If your USPS package was stolen, you should be able to go through the seller to receive a replacement or refund.
Simply have the mail sent to General Delivery, a service available at designated (one per town) Post Offices. Just show your ID when picking up your mail. There are other options with the Post Office, where the sender can specify “hold for pickup “ using your regular address, such as Express Mail.
USPS DELIVERY TIMES
PO Box mail delivery usually starts around 8:30 am. All domestic express mail should be delivered before 12 pm. All international mail should be delivered before 3 pm. All the mail, parcels or packages should be delivered before 5 pm.Amazon confirmed that its customers weren't seeing incorrect shipping estimates. The longer delivery times are the new normal for many products on Amazon. The good news is that “essential” items such as food and medical supplies ordered on the platform are being prioritized and shipped relatively quickly.
Amazon uses FEDEX, UPS, and USPS to deliver many of their packages. If the package is shipped directly from Amazon to the Post Office, it is able to be delivered to the PO Box.

It is one of 154.2 billion pieces of mail that the Postal Service handles each year. FedEx and UPS handle a little over 6 billion packages a year. The logistics of tracking every piece and accounting for every piece is not possible, yet. Weather, accidents, fires, thieves all account for some of the lost mail.
Specifically, USPS is expected to be financially self-sufficient by covering its expenses through revenues generated from the sale of its products and services. However, USPS is no longer able to do so. Both Congress and USPS need to act to put it on a sustainable financial footing.
