WHERE'S MY REFUND STATUS BARS DISAPPEAREDThis has to do with the irs.gov where's my refund site having too much traffic and lagging. This is causing images not to display and information about your federal tax return to not show up. This has happened every year since the tool was first available.
It takes at least 24 hours after your e-filed return has been accepted by the IRS for your refund information to show up on the IRS system. If you call the IRS or use the IRS website's Where's My Refund? tool before that time, your refund information will not show up on the IRS system.
The IRS only issued refunds once per week under the old system. They now issue refunds every business day, Monday through Friday (except holidays). Due to changes in the IRS auditing system, they no longer release a full schedule as they did in previous years.
There are many different reasons why your refund may have not been processed yet, but the most common include: Your tax return included errors. If your return includes a claim filed for an Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or an Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) your return will be delayed.
One reason for this is because the IRS may still be making changes to their processes. That could include updated security measures or process tweaks due to changes in the tax code. And if the IRS needs to update or make changes, it probably won't make them until just before tax time.
What does the status “Your Tax Return Has Been Received and Is Being Processed” means? This means that your tax return is received by the IRs and it's in the process. It will show you the refund date only when the refund has been approved and the IRS has finished processing it.
I called this number: 800-829-1954. According to the IRS website, it can take up to 12 weeks to process some returns. If it has been more than 12 weeks and you have not received your refund, you'll definitely want to call.
If you checked the status of your stimulus payment with the IRS Get My Payment tool and the message says "Payment Status #2- Not Available," the IRS says you will not receive a second Economic Impact Payment and instead, you need to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 Tax Return.
Individuals who reported adjusted gross income (AGI) of $75,000 or less on their 2019 tax returns will receive the full $600 ($150,000 or less AGI for couples filing jointly; $112,500 or less for heads of household).
The IRS will look at your 2019 tax return to see if you're eligible for a second stimulus check and, if so, to determine the amount of your check. If you didn't file a 2019 return (not everyone is required to file one), then the IRS is stuck…and so they won't send you a second stimulus check.
The IRS said it's looking at options to correct these payments and said if you have not received your full payment by the time you file your 2020 tax return, you may claim it as a Recovery Rebate Credit on your tax return. (Find out more about how stimulus check direct deposit works.)
Early Filers - You Will See A Delay In Your RefundCongress passed a law that requires the IRS to HOLD all tax refunds that include the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until February 15, 2021, regardless of how early the tax return was filed.
If you haven't received a tax refund recently, there would be no reason for the IRS to have your direct deposit on file. Therefore, if your direct deposit isn't listed, or you don't have a checking account, the refund will be mailed to the address on your tax form. Everything is being sent direct deposit.
Does the irs make direct deposits throughout the day or just in the am or pm? Normally they sent to your bank between 12am and 1am. That does not mean it will go directly into your bank account. You bank can take up to 5 days to deposit it but normally it only takes a few hours.
The best and fastest way to get your tax refund is to have it electronically deposited for free into your financial account. The IRS program is called direct deposit. You can use it to deposit your refund into one, two or even three accounts. Eight out of 10 taxpayers get their refunds by using Direct Deposit.
What time are updates? The WMR and Transcripts can update anytime throughout the day. However, mass updates occur overnight between midnight and 3 am.

IRS discourages taxpayers from checking refund status more than once a day.
