Lancers can win battles but they always lose and die when people who betray their backside such as their own masters betraying them or being incompetent or from arrows from afar targeted at their weak points and them not able to assume defensive tactics that could protect their backside.
Yes, Lancer is faster, but Archer can certainly keep up with his Eye of the Mind. Archer could project Gae Bolg and turn it into a mutual kill, if need be. If anything, he could threaten Lancer with the mutual kill and pressure him into not throwing Gae Bolg, like how he did with Saber.
1 Perfect: Lancer Actually Likes RinA huge reason why fans may adore this pair is because Lancer himself has expressed interest in Rin. Not only does the Irish hero have an eye for strong women like her, he actually respects her judgement and strength enough to want to become her Servant.
Archer betrays Rin, aligning with Caster because, he claimed, she had the highest chance of acquiring the Holy Grail. He then betrays Caster and her master and kills them both, revealing his true intentions. Archer needed to be free from Rin's command seal in order to accomplish his goal of killing Shirou.
The shocked Servant realises that he has been fatally betrayed by his current Master, just as his former master Fionn caused his death during his first lifetime. Enraged, Lancer dies cursing the Holy Grail, Saber, Kiritsugu, and the world at large for his fate.
Archer seeks to kill his younger self in the hope of erasing his own existence or at least erasing the ideal of being an ally of justice from Shirou's world. During a battle, Shirou learns of Archer's true identity.
Saber is the love interest of Shirou Emiya in the first route of the visual novel Fate/stay night and the main love interest of the first anime adaptation. She is Shirou's Servant, an agile but powerful warrior. Saber is a strong-willed young woman who always speaks resolutely.
When Lancelot heard the news of his King's death, Lancelot sank in despair and escaped through madness. Thus, when he became a Heroic Spirit, he was summoned as the insane Berserker.
Because they are completely different people. The Lancer featured in Fate/zero is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. The Lancer featured in Fate/stay night is Cú Chulainn, and is my personal favorite Servant. The only similarities shared by these characters is origin (Irish mythology) and class (Lancer).
Lancer [Servant]Heroic Spirit of the lance. Requires supreme agility, as well as excellent close combat skills.
Rider is a supporting protagonist in the light novel and anime series Fate/Zero. He is the servant of Waver Velvet during the fourth Holy Grail War. Rider is noble and physically overbearing, who prefers to conquer his enemies by winning without killing and controlling without humiliating them.
Archer is not a proper Heroic Spirit in the sense of other heroes. His true identity is that of Shirou Emiya of an alternate timeline from that of Fate/stay night who made a contract with the world and became the Heroic Spirit EMIYA. He acts as a Counter Guardian for the world as payment for the contract.
Rin saved Shirou for the sake of Sakura, and Archer probably doesn't get the same treatment because he is a Servant, which grants him some regeneration, aside of Rin being a excellent mage granting some ****tons of mana for him to heal. fully aware of that, Rin just saved someone's that had no powers.
He died from an illness 5 years after the 4th Holy Grail War. Angra Mainyu's curse eventually cost his life, as his limbs were lame, his sight failed, and most of his circuits became useless. His last moments were with Shirou, watching the moon outside his garden.
Noble PhantasmMedea (????, Medeia?), Class Name Caster (?????, Kyasutā?), is the Caster-class Servant of Souichirou Kuzuki in the Fifth Holy Grail War of Fate/stay night. She also acts as the Master of another Servant, Assassin.
Caren Hortensia acts as his Master during the events of Fate/hollow ataraxia. He is the Servant of Rin Tohsaka in the Moon Cell Holy Grail War of Fate/EXTRA.
