A linear plot consist of a series of events that have a clear beginning, middle and end. The story unfolds in a chronological order, which means they are told in the order they happened. Two or more plots that occur at the same time, and intersect throughout, particularly at the climax.
Types of Line Graphs
- Simple Line Graph: Only one line is plotted on the graph.
- Multiple Line Graph: More than one line is plotted on the same set of axes.
- Compound Line Graph: If information can be subdivided into two or more types of data.

Linear/Chronological: When the author tells a story in chronological order. This structure can include flashbacks, but the majority of the narrative is told in the order that it occurs. Nonlinear/Fractured: A nonlinear structure tells the story out of chronological order, jumping disjointedly through the timeline.
The three types of solution sets: A system of linear equations can have no solution, a unique solution or infinitely many solutions. A system has no solution if the equations are inconsistent, they are contradictory.
A system of two linear equations can have one solution, an infinite number of solutions, or no solution. Systems of equations can be classified by the number of solutions. If a system has at least one solution, it is said to be consistent . If a consistent system has exactly one solution, it is independent .

In simple terms, Freytag's Pyramid is a five-part map of dramatic structure itself. Whether you're writing short stories, screenplays, nonfiction, or even some narrative poetry, the majority of stories follow a fairly simple pattern called Freytag's Pyramid.
The most common plot employed in short stories is the linear plot. Short storied do not use episodic and parallel plots because short stories normally concentrate on a single event with a very limited number of characters, while episodic and parallel plots include a series of events or more than one plot.
