How to Live by the Golden Rule

The golden rule is said to emphasize the positive duties of the individual, while the silver rule regulates negative behaviors.
The Golden Rule is to 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
The Westminster Confession of Faith (1646) divides the Mosaic laws into three categories: moral, civil, and ceremonial. In the view of the Westminster Divines, only the moral laws of the Mosaic Law, which include the Ten Commandments and the commands repeated in the New Testament, directly apply to Christians today.
THE 613 MITZVOT
- To know there is a God. (Exodus 20:2)
- To have not other gods. (Exodus 20:3)
- To know that He is one. (Deuteronomy 6:4)
- To love Him. (Deuteronomy 6:5)
- To fear Him. (Deuteronomy 10:20)
- To sanctify His Name.
- Not to profane His Name.
- To worship Him as He has ordered and not destroy holy objects.

"If you say something like 'Oh my God,' then you're using His name in vain, but if you're saying something like OMG it's not really using the Lord's name in vain because you're not saying 'Oh my God. Words like gosh and golly, both dating back to the 1700s, served as euphemisms for God.
The 613 commandments include "positive commandments", to perform an act (mitzvot aseh), and "negative commandments", to abstain from certain acts (mitzvot lo taaseh).
When asked which commandment is greatest, he responds (in Matthew 22:37): “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind…the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.â€
Moral laws encompass regulations on justice, respect and sexual conduct. All people will be held accountable to these laws. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (which is in the New Testament, dealing with God's moral law) says that the unrighteous should not inherit the kingdom of God.
Following God's Plan for Your Life:
- Be in prayer. A way to know that you are following God's plan for your life is by being in prayer.
- Be actively reading in the Word.
- Follow the commands He puts on your heart.
- Seek a godly community.
- Obey the Truth.
The Seven Laws of Noah include prohibitions against worshipping idols, cursing God, murder, adultery and sexual immorality, theft, eating flesh torn from a living animal, as well as the obligation to establish courts of justice.
Matthew 7:12 is the twelfth verse of the seventh chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament and is part of the Sermon on the Mount. This well known verse presents what has become known as the Golden Rule.
The Golden Rule is almost extinct at this present moment. The new Golden Rule now has divisions - it has changed from the original principle. Today let's deal with the three divisions according to Effectiviology. This new outlook on the Golden Rule formulates it three ways.
