Trash Bags keep trash containedIf loose trash blows away while we're dumping it or driving to the next location we have to chase it down and get it in the truck because littering isn't cool. The second reason keeping trash contained in a bag is important is because it is much easier and faster to pack into our trucks.
Can I still use clear bags for recyclables? Yes, but it is recommended you put your recyclables in a clear blue bag and use a clear bag or clear coloured (green, red, yellow, etc.) for your garbage. Remember that the contents of the bag must be visible to curbside collection and landfill staff.
The answer to that question is a big “NO,” to bagging them. The main reason most recycling centers are asking people to not place their recyclables in bags is because loose bags get stuck in the machines that sort the recyclables. When the bags get stuck, it causes the machine to jam and stop working.
Clear garbage bags are generally used for lighter trash like paper and cardboard. Using clear garbage bags allows the trash to be visible to the sanitation department for proper assortment.
Its automated arm has an 9-feet reach and can lift up to 800 pounds.
The answer, simply, is yes. One major advantage of using black trash bags over a white or clear bag is an obvious one – you can't see through it. Generally speaking, black can liners come in a larger size which is perfectly suited for use in areas that collect a large amount of garbage.
Garbage must not be burned. Medical waste and needles must be properly packaged and made safe for collection.
Cheryl Harmsworth, program manager of the Strategic Water Initiative for the City of Calgary, says the city “at this time is neither promoting nor banning garburators.” However, she also says “composting is the better option for the disposing of food waste.”
While garbage collectors aren't going to measure and weigh your cans, they can fairly accurately tell if a can is too heavy. Your area may have different standards, but the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County has a simple 50/50 rule to remember: Don't go over 50 pounds or 50 gallons.
Residents can change the size of their garbage bin by calling 311 or making a request online. When moving, bins remain property of the City and must stay at the property.
