For Magic-Users, the Atronach is the best way to go. For Fighters or Thieves, The Lady is the best. The Lover (+25 Agility) or the The Steed (+25 Speed) are not bad choices either.
The game's lore establishes that the landmass on which Morrowind occurred, the island of Vvardenfell, has been destroyed in a catastrophic volcanic eruption. However, Skyrim would almost allow people to return to Morrowind in its final expansion, Dragonborn.
The Nerevarine, also known as the Protector of Morrowind, is the legitimate reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar as well as the player character and protagonist of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and its expansions Bloodmoon and Tribunal.
Mournhold, also known as the City of Light and Magic, is a city in the region of Deshaan, Morrowind. It houses the temple of Almalexia and is the capital city of both Morrowind and the Ebonheart Pact.
According to legend, after Lorkhan tricked or convinced the Aedra to create the mortal realm, they tore out his divine heart and threw it down to Nirn, to be hidden forever. So, the spell to "manipulate the Heart to instill divinity" into the Dwemer people backfired and destroyed the race.
You can interpret "the Empire released its grasp on Morrowind" in more than one way. It could mean they're independent now, but not necessarily. But Vvardenfell is not the only part of Morrowind.
After the death of Nerevar shortly after the battle at Red Mountain, Sotha Sil acquired an understanding of how the tools of Kagrenac and the Heart of Lorkhan worked, and thus how to use them to turn the Tribunal into living gods. The Tribunal then went through the process of stealing its divine essence for themselves.

Skyrim is not a game based in History (which is a shame), but each of The Elders Scrolls games has been heavily influenced by weapons and locations from the middle ages. Skyrim takes most of its inspiration from medieval Northern Europe. There's a real 'Viking-y' feel to the whole thing.

The video game Magicka is loosely based on Norse mythology, and contains several elements and references. The role-playing game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim by Bethesda Softworks is heavily influenced by Norse mythology in its setting. In Age of Empires Online the Norse are a playable faction.
Skyrim has a semi decent story but honestly for the es games it's the side quests that make up the story more than the main quests. Go out and get immersed in the world, be it morrowind, oblivion or skyrim. Yes, the Main Quest is good. If you like Wulfharth and Tiber Septim, it's really good.
A certain game of the year for me. The reason TES V: Skyrim is so popular is because it has been dumbed down to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Skyrim is more of a sandbox adventure game than an RPG, because all the limitations on character creation and progression have been stripped out.
Yet the Joel Schumacher-directed film only grossed $107 million total, while the Bethesda Studio's video game hit an all-time high. Within the first week of its debut, it was reported that "Skyrim" grossed a whopping $450 million!
