Its been a while since I moved, but in case anyone else ever asks this question, yes, I did fit the two couches and the king mattress in the 6x12 uhaul.
Your vehicle can also tow any U-Haul trailer equipped with brakes, provided the curb weight of your tow vehicle is at least 80% of the loaded weight of the braked trailer. DO NOT tow the trailer if your tow vehicle has changes that are not approved. Avoid driving on a compact spare tire any longer than necessary.
In most of not all is states you can not go over 55 if the trailer does not have trailer brakes. Uhaul trailers don't have trailer brakes. Also trying to stop the extra weight will make the brakes overheat and become useless.

Chock the tires and you should be good. Your only trick will be backing up the hitch once the trailer is loaded, and you might want to have the trailer lifted/propped to the approximate height of the hitch so you don't have to jack it up once fully loaded. Make sure you unhitch it on a flat surface and chock the tires.
You measure hitch ball size starting with the diameter of the ball itself. The diameter should be stamped into the top of the ball, or you can use a tape measure or ruler to find the measurement yourself. Use the diameter to match your trailer coupler.
