18D – Medical Sergeant
Medical sergeants provide emergency, routine and long-term medical care for detachment members and associated allied members and host-nation personnel. They establish field medical facilities to support unconventional-warfare operations. They provide veterinary care.The 18X contract is the ability to ATTEMPT to enter Special Forces on your entry into the US Army. An 18X candidate enters the Army, attends OSUT at Fort Benning, consisting of Basic training and Infantry Advanced Individual Training (AIT). 18X candidates then attend Airborne school before moving to Ft. Bragg, NC.

Special Forces Enlistment Option
19K (pronounced Nineteen Kilo ) is the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) for the United States Army's M1 Armor Crewman (i.e. a crew member aboard an M1 Abrams tank).
Hold an officer Military Occupational Specialty found in the
75th Ranger Regiment.
In order to qualify for service in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you must:
- Possess U.S. citizenship.
- Volunteer for assignment and be on active duty.
- Have a General Technical Score of 105 or higher.
- Pass physical requirements, including the Ranger.
Air weapons specialists store, service, inspect, and handle all types of aerial weapons, ammunition, and launchers. Air weapons specialists might also deal with systems not related to weapons such as aircraft fire extinguishing systems and ejection seats.
The 18D (18 Delta) medics in the Army special forces are highly trained Special Operations Combat Medics who attend training for more than a year, learning a variety of skills.
Recruits can enlist straight into Special Forces.

Category I languages, such as French or Spanish, and Category II languages, such as Indonesian, are the easiest to learn, while Category III languages, such as Russian, and Category IV languages, such as Chinese, are the most difficult.
The 75th Ranger Regiment is a Special Operations Force, but they are not considered Special Forces because that term in the United States Army refers to units with a different, and specific purpose that perform other missions besides those of the Ranger Regiment.
